The single-camera comedy casts Jones as Angie Tribeca, an LAPD vet who is now part of an outlandish group of investigators that — against all odds — manage to actually get their jobs done.

Alfred Molina will guest-star on the pilot as handwriting expert Dr. Edelweiss, and could recur should the pilot be ordered to series. Lisa Kudrow is also reportedly in talks to appear.

Steve Carrell, who co-wrote the pilot with wife Nancy Carrell, is set to direct.

  • I’ll be checking it out. I’m not convinced about the plot, but there are a lot of fun, funny, talented people attached to this, so it’s worth giving it a shot.
