Suggestions for Morgan’s replacement are currently being discussed at CNN, so we thought we’d add a few of our own potential candidates into the mix. And because Morgan’s successor will need to pull in major ratings, our list includes a few outside-the-box contenders.

View our suggestions below, and then hit the comments with your own wish list!

Comments are monitored, so don’t go off topic, don’t frakkin’ curse and don’t bore us with how much your coworker’s sister-in-law makes per hour. Talk smart about TV!

    Joy Behar would be great

    • Steven says:

These suggestions are jokes. While I’d like Joy Behar, she’s too polarizing and political.. Same as Rosie. And they’ve both had talk shows cancelled. They’d be suited for msnbc. We all know Jay Leno is free. But it should be someone adept with hard news, pop culture and interview skills. Johnny & Tara need y to be given a show. Logo would be an option. But they’re the younger, hipper Regis and Kelly.

      • Mike says:

I find it funny that people do not realize these are joke choices! CNN used to be news network that has lost it’s way! They need news people not left wing loonies, puppets and figure skaters that why the people listed make the post funny! CNN is the problem, because with Fox News dominating daily news stories that sometimes veer right, and Comedy Central not far behind with off beat creative humor, they need to do NEWS! As far as MSNBC they are a joke as far as ratings, why put on or copy their style and hosts? Do the news with a smart voice and forget the interview shows, where you search the B-Listings for daily interviews.

      • Huba Buba says:

Johnny used to have a show. It was called “Be good Johnny Weir”, and it was a gem.

  2. Androme says:

    This is a joke.

  3. Kim R says:

Rosie O’Donnell is a great interviewer and I would watch that. She filled in a bit for Piers and was so much more watchable for me. I’m not a fan of Piers to begin with but I do think Ms. O’Donnell would be a great choice.

  4. Chloe says:

I’m going with Tara & Johnny, Alf or Jay Leno!

  5. Abel'sMom says:

    Alexis Bellino!

  6. Andrew Hass says:

I’m sorry that Piers Morgan’s sorry got cancelled but it’ll probably be on for a few more weeks at least and let his contract expire with CNN expire too.Plus CNN may want his replacement in place before his show ends.As for who the replacement could be i could see it been Ann Curry or Joy Behar. My guess is CNN will want someone who can do different kind of interviews that can encompass politics, entertainment and other stuff.Plus the new show could be a live show every night.

  7. DavidSask says:

Jay Leno would be smart idea if they want ratings!!!

  8. Rob says:

    It’s Leno’s to lose.

  9. Martin says:

Ann curry would be great. Could give them a good publicity boost too.

  10. Mike R. says:

Thank god, he embarrassed himself to the point of no return after that disastrous Janet Mock interview.

  11. GuessWhat says:

    Oops…is this THE ONION??
What is wrong with my browser lately!?

  12. Rjrtist says:

CNN has a lot of trouble on its hands and its just not Piers fault. Even though he’s a terrible interviewer.

  13. Jared says:

I would LOVE for Rosie O Donnell to get it! I thought the same she was great when she subbed for Peirs those few times. And I loved her “revamped” one on one interviewing style of her talk show on OWN.

  14. Tahoe Mike says:

It’s a great day for America!

    • Kevin in CT says:

Absolutely!! Hit the road Jack (piers) and don’t……….

    • Dee says:

You got it right! Get going and stay gone! Can you imagine some American loon making negative comments about the British nightly on the BBC? They’d have reopened the Tower dungeons in five minutes. Good riddance!

  15. If Brian Williams is bored of NBC I’d love to see him on CNN with a 1 Hour show.

  16. Heathers says:

Alf! And Piers, don’t let the door hit you in the ass!

  17. John Moshier says:

Chelsea handler ross Mathews could take over her show

  18. troll says:

No to Jay, Rosie, The Skating Duo and Burke! Yes to the other contenders.

  19. B.P. says:

    Yes! Bring Back ALF!

  20. Bud Brown says:

A bent trash can or a broken telly would be a good replacement for Morgan!

  21. David4 says:

    ALF!!!

Or Weir, as long as he’s not wearing anything. :)

  22. Angela says:

Haha, the Sue Sylvester one is my favorite :D.
In all seriousness, though, Ann Curry would be a good choice.

  23. Jen says:

Lol…..but on a serious note….I actually think George Strombolopolis would be perfect and he’s already received Larry King’s endorsement.

  24. Rosalyn says:

I am sorry, but Ann Curry is a terrible interviewer. She never lets people talk or she answers the question for them.

  25. Sheldon W. says:

    W. Kamau Bell!!!!!

  26. Andrew says:

    George Stromboulopoulos

  27. No one will eventually host CNN’s next nightly talk show.
