Benched Jolene PurdyUnder the Dome alumna Jolene Purdy is rebounding with a series regular role on USA Network’s upcoming comedy series Benched, per The Hollywood Reporter.

The single-cam laugher — penned by Trophy Wife‘s Michaela Watkins and Damon Jones (Halfway Home) — stars Eliza Coupe (Happy Endings) as Nina, a dedicated, career-driven corporate attorney who has a very public nervous breakdown after getting passed up for an expected promotion and finds herself working as a public defender.

Purdy will play Micah, an intern at Nina’s new office.

• Showtime’s Ray Donovan has cast Kip Pardue (Mad Men, ER) in a multple-episode guest spot for Season 2, per The Hollywood Reporter. The actor will play FBI agent Volchek, who works for Hank Azaria’s James Cochran.

• BET’s Being Mary Jane has upped Stephen Bishop to a series regular, reports our sister site Deadline. Bishop portrays David, a man with whom Mary Jane tries to work things out.

• TLC has ordered a Breaking Amish spin-off, titled Return to Amish, which follows original cast members Abe, Rebecca, Sabrina, Jeremiah and Kate as they acclimate to their new lives while still applying some Amish traditions to holidays and major life events. The six-episode series is slated to premiere in June.
