American Idol Exclusive Video: Get a Sneak Peek of the Top 15 Guys at Randy Jackson's Workshop!

Briston Maroney learns about not looking “goofy” with his guitar. Caleb Johnson tries to appear less “angry” while singing (a Chris Daughty protip!). And Dexter Roberts gets to work on “Dexterfying” every tune he covers.

These are just a few of the takeaways from the following exclusive video previewing tonight’s installment of American Idol (8/7c on Fox) — in which we’ll see the Top 15 guys dive headlong into Randy Jackson’s Idol Workshop, and then hope their efforts make them one of the 10 contestants the judges will choose to perform for America’s votes.

Daughtry and Adam Lambert will be on hand to offer their own hard-won knowledge to the newbies, too. Plus: Perhaps we’ll see some footage of the show’s new “non-denominational spiritual advisers”! (Look for ‘em to trend on Twitter, yo!)

      • Yea, the list is out. The judges did the right thing on a couple of eliminations, and then there are the head-scratchers.

        • I think this list is a lot more obvious and will cause less tumult than last night’s travesty.

  • I have a feeling that we are going to enjoy the guys more than the girls.

  • Randy’s workshop looks to be about as intense as the makeover moment in Wizard of Oz when they all get spruced up. And if last night is any example, it’s also been a colossal flop. Those contestants looked terrified up there and 9 out of 10 couldn’t deliver the song.

    • I hardly think that is the workshops fault – more the fault of the fact that until three seconds before they sing, they don’t even know if they will get the chance to.

  • I’ve been saying that I really like the panel of judges this year and it was because of them thatthat I decided to watch Idol this year. I haven’t missed A lot of seasons now due to my overall opinions of the judges. These three judges all have REAL life experiences in music. They know what they are talking about and what to look and listen for. They give credible, accurate and specific feedback and most importantly they do so with professionalism and class. They encourage, versus humiliating and tearing down the contestants. That’s such a refreshing change from previous seasons of Idol!

  • On a somewhat shallow note: Adam is growing into his looks and I must say looks better than ever. :D
