Pilot Scoop: Law & Order Vet Courtney B. Vance Joins ABC's Military-Medical Drama Warriors

Courtney B. Vance WarriorsOnetime Law & Order: Criminal Intent ADA Courtney B. Vance is checking into ABC’s military-themed medical drama pilot Warriors, TVLine has learned.

The potential series, from Party of Five‘s Christopher Keyser, centers on the doctors and nurses at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center who treat returning soldiers.

Vance, whose recent credits include arcs on Revenge and The Closer as well as a regular gig on ABC’s FlashForward, will play Dr. Hennessy Fiske, an orthopedic surgeon with a subspecialty in neurology who is a genius at designing prosthetics. The still-growing ensemble also includes Eloise Mumford (The River).

Keyser penned the script and will serve as an EP alongside David Hoberman, Todd Lieberman and Laurie Zaks.

  • If they incorporate a csi-type plotting, we’ll watch it. Our household is bored with medical shows, but we loved Diagnose Murder.

  • Could be interested. There was a Canadian military medical drama called Combat Hospital that captured my attention for its brief run (though that was set in the theatre- in Afghanistan from what I remember). Fingers crossed this is decent and doesn’t just slide into bed-hopping soap like Grey’s.
