Dianne Wiest Cast on BlacklistTwo-time Academy Award winner Dianne Wiest has landed on The Blacklist.

After series star Megan Boone trumpeted the casting on Thursday morning, via Twitter, TVLine went about securing exclusive details on the acclaimed actress’ visit.

Wiest will guest-star on NBC’s hit freshman drama in Episode 15, titled “The Judge (#57)”, as the kind, sympathetic head of Amnesty United, an organization that fights against the death penalty.

In addition to her long film resume (including Bullets Over Broadway and Hannah and Her Sisters, both which netted her an Oscar), Wiest’s previous TV credits include In Treatment (for which she earned an Emmy), Law & Order (as D.A. Nora Lewin) and the 2000 miniseries The 10th Kingdom.

The Blacklist resumes its freshman run after the Winter Olympics on Monday, Feb. 24, with Episode 14.

    This is great news. Someone else I’d love to see is Susan Sarandon as a woman from Red’s past. Hands up all who remember “White Palace.”. ;-)

    I LOVE James Spader in this role as Red. In fact all of the acting is fantastic. You can never go wrong when you cast Dianne Wiest in any role. I cannot wait until the Blacklist comes back — it is the best new show of the season.
