Four-time Emmy winner Rhea Perlman will be paying a visit to The Neighbors.
Or, more accurately, The Neighbors‘ Weaver family will be visiting her.
TVLine has learned exclusively that the Cheers alum/Kirstie costar is set to guest-star on the sophomore ABC comedy, playing Debbie’s mother Janet.
Now living in Boca, Janet is a former wild child and thus was a lousy mother — an unapologetically hard-drinking, pot-smoking groupie. But when Debbie (Jamie Gertz) brings her family to visit, she is shocked (and skeptical) to see that Janet is sober and seemingly turned her life around. Heck, she’s even adopted a 10-year-old boy, with whom she has a great relationship.
In addition to her famous role as Cheers‘ Carla and her current gig as Kirstie’s assistant on the freshman TV Land sitcom, Perlman’s credits include episodes of Hot in Cleveland, Wilfred, Hung and SVU.
The Neighbors resumes its season on Friday, Jan. 10. Perlman’s episode shoots in mid-January.
