Save the Dates! Your Guide to 150+ December Finales, January Premieres and More

TV Calendar 2014With winter nearing, your favorite shows are on track for “hibernation” — sometimes just for a few weeks, in some cases quite longer.

To help you keep tabs on it all/figure out exactly when it’s “safe” to go visit your crazy Aunt Eunice, TVLine has prepared handy calendars for December and January, denoting a flurry of finales (of the season, series or midseason variety) as well as the notable season/series premieres.

As a free bonus, I’ve included what can scientifically be described as a “smattering” of winter premiere dates — aka when the likes of NCIS, New Girl and Castle come in from the cold. Some are missing, yes, but… you get what you get and you don’t get upset.

Without further ado, here is said round-up of December/January dates, plus a cursory look at what February/March have in store. (Reminder: Castle, SVU, Revolution, Dixie, Beast and New Girl have already started their winter vacay.) Premieres are in BOLD. Click on the thumbnails below, and save the dates.

Comments are monitored, so don’t go off topic, don’t frakkin’ curse and don’t bore us with how much your coworker’s sister-in-law makes per hour. Talk smart about TV!

    Tru Calling?

    • Matt Webb Mitovich says:

      Marchuary 33rd, MIA Network.

    • sick and tired of rude programs says:

CARRIE Diaries started out so wholesome.
My family really enjoyed the family issues and honesty it projected.
Then BAM , everything out of the actors mouth was about sex and more sex . WEATHER or not it was boy vs boy, girl vs boy,
Race vs race . It was all sex. What is wrong with a nice clean show about people and every day problems of life without some discussion on jumping someones bones?
I know you have slap stick humor sit-com that are pathetic in material, but we need fresh material of good wholesome issues that are taken seriously but done in a attitude freindly eenvironment. My friends and family all watch re-runs of older shows that are not offensive to us. Please Try to consider and please the generation that pays there bills and works for a living.

      • Two-Cents says:

You have to understand that the Carrie Diaries is not solely a kids’s show. It is on the CW – a young adult network and follows an HBO character from the wildly popular Sex and the City. All they did is talk about Sex, Love, and Dating on that show. Of course they are going to start talking about “jumping bones” because it is the introduction of Carrie Bradshaw into her woman hood and ability to be comfortable enough with sex to write about it as a living. I say if you want wholesome shows that you find age-appropriate then stick to those old shows. T.V. now and days is not as quality anymore. Writing about changing it here does not do anything. You should voice your concerns to the networks. Start a petition and make a change if you feel that strongly about it…… you’ll be surprised how many people agree with you.

      • Jenn says:

Seriously, get with the times. Wholesome went out the window in the 90’s. If you don’t like it, don’t watch it! However, take a look at the ratings of these new shows….get the picture?

      • Vee says:

Okay, just going to throw this out there – maybe instead of worrying about the lack of wholesome programming on TV you and the family could gather around the warm glow of a grammar or spelling book. It’s a little hard to take your “freindly eenvironment” request seriously when it reads like it’s written by a troll WEATHER or not it actually is.

      • abz says:

I’ve never watched that show nor have I watched the original SATC either. However, I’m familiar with the background and given that the show is (correct me if I’m wrong) a prequel to SEX and the city, you really shouldn’t be surprised the show took the turn it did toward sex.

At last someone who watches a great new show, I can’t wait for The Americans to return, glad to
hear it is renewed since I have never met anyone else who watches it and I find it fantastic, great
story lines, I love when the characters can be doing laundry or having a moment and flash back to
when they were young adults in Russia training to be undercover AMERICANS, remembering the
person they were in love with before leaving, or remembering their mother’s voice. Really nice
flashbacks mixed in with lots of plots and tense intrigue. I think it is back Feb. 26. Cherin
