Ratings: Charlie Brown Thanksgiving Rises, Gaga Does So-So, Macy's Parade Hits 11-Year High

Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade - Season 87ABC’s broadcast of A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving this Thursday tackled 5.3 million total viewers and a 1.6 demo rating, surging 33 and 45 percent versus last year.

Following a Modern Family rerun (3.4 mil/1.1), Lady Gaga and the Muppets Holiday Spectacular closed ABC’s night with 3.6 mil and a 0.9, down 22 and 25 percent from the network’s year-ago Michael Jackson special and trailing CBS’ Crazy Ones (4.3 mil/1.1) and Elementary (4.7 mil/1.1) repeats.

Over on Fox, The X Factor (3.8 mil/1.0) and Glee (2.8 mil/0.9) were expectedly down.

NBC Sunday Night Football‘s coverage of the Steelers/Ravens game of course dominated the night with 18.6 mil/6.0 per preliminary numbers — about on par with last Thanksgiving’s Patriots/Jets match-up.

During the day on Thursday, NBC’s coverage of the Macy’s parade rose 11 percent in the overnight metered-market household rating to hit an 11-year high. Similarly, the Peacock’s presentation of The National Dog Show was up 13 percent, fetching a nine-year high.

Rewinding to Wednesday night: CBS’ fresh helpings of dramas were expectedly down, with Criminal Minds taking the biggest hit (falling 14 percent in the demo to a 2.4). NBC’s Sound of Music Live! pre-show thingy did 4.9 mil/1.0, while SNL‘s T’giving special led out of that with 4.9 mil/1.6.
