From both Will Ferrell and Adam McKay’s Gary Sanchez Productions and Anne Heche (Save Me), the single-camera project stars the Private Practice alumna as a hard-living, sexually unapologetic woman whose life on the edge is balanced by the fact that she also happens to be a judge in the criminal court system.

Chad Kultgen (The Incredible Burt Wonderstone) will pen the potential series.

Walsh toplined ABC’s Private Practice for six seasons until its cancellation last January.

vet Fred Armisen will guest-star in an upcoming episode of Super Fun Night, EW.com reports, playing the flustered head of HR at Kimmie’s law firm.

FX is teaming with Jen Kirkman on a half-hour sitcom starring the Chelsea Lately staple, Deadline reports. Exec-produced by Kirkman and Chelsea Handler, Jen centers on newly divorced woman who always followed the rules but is now following her gut.

Bravo is launching three series in the new year: Toned Up, which bows Jan. 2, follows the women behind a fitness website; Blood, Sweat & Tears, premiering Jan. 5, centers on up-and-comers in New York; and 100 Days of Summer, debuting Jan. 7, focuses on young Chicago go-getters.

  • Anything with Kate Walsh in it is worth-a-watch! And her comedic moments on Greys and PPP were spot-on.. so looking forward to it! but NBC – eh?

  • Yes! Love Kate Walsh, she was hilarious in Grey’s Anatomy, can’t wait to see her back on TV :D Hope it goes well for her, NBC doesn’t always have a great track record.

  • Private Practice wasn’t “cancelled” as such, they decided to end it. Kate Walsh was going to leave at the end of 13 episodes of s6 regardless of whether the show continues anyway.

    Looking forward to seeing her in this.

  • Good news – I like Kate – she has a good comedic sense dating back to Drew Carey show [as well as those moments on GA and PP]. Happy to see her back in the pilot mix. Gee, I hope NBC doesn’t mess this all up. Kate deserves the best the network, writing staff and production team have to offer.
