8 pm NBC News Special: Why We (Heart) Vampires (NBC) | Tamron Hall (Today) hosts this special, featuring interviews from vamp portrayers including Kristin Bauer (True Blood), James Marsters (Buffy the Vampire Slayer) and the Mistress of the Dark herself, Elvira. Coincidentally, NBC’s new Dracula series airs later tonight. (What were the odds?)

8:30 pm The Neighbors (ABC) | As football season consumes the Weaver household, Larry tries to replace community golf with the all-American game — uniforms and all.

9 pm Time of Death (Showtime) | Series premiere: In case you want to start crying and never stop, this new docuseries presents an unflinching, in-depth look at individuals facing their imminent demise.

10 pm Cracked (Reelz) | Psych Crimes gets involved when a thief has a mid-robbery mental breakdown.

10 pm It Takes a Choir (USA Network) | Series premiere: Gareth Malone (BBC Two’s The Choir, on which this American adaptation is based) unites real, unexpected people through the power of music. In this first episode, Malone visit Fort Riley in Kansas.

  • Are you sure It Takes a Choir is on? When I went to check the USA schedule it just lists Modern Family Reruns at 10 tonight.

    • I’ve done some searching and apparently USA decided just today to delay the season premiere until sometime in 2014. They felt a different date and time slot would better serve the show. Not sure why USA waited until today to move it. Weird.
