The Revenge alumna has joined the cast of Salem, WGN America’s first scripted series. Per Deadline, the period piece explores what really fueled the titular town’s witch trials, with Madekwe playing lead sorceress Mary Sibley’s alluring (and ageless!) right-hand woman.

• American Idol champ Jordin Sparks will guest-star in a November episode of CSI, PerezHilton.com reports, playing a teacher who somehow finds herself in the midst of a bloody hotel crime scene.

Rapper/actor T.I. has booked a multi-ep arc in House of Lies‘ third season, Deadline reports. He and fellow guest star Mekhi Phifer are playing friends and co-owners of a clothing company who turn to Marty to expand their empire.

Jeri Ryan has landed an arc on Syfy’s Helix, a new thriller from Battlestar Galactica helmer Ron Moore. The series follows a team of Centers for Disease Control scientists who travel to the Arctic to investigate a possible disease outbreak. Once there, they find themselves involved in a life-and-death struggle “that holds the key to mankind’s salvation or total annihilation.” Ryan joins as the COO of the research facility where the series takes place.

•  Lifetime’s Witches of East End on Sunday night premiered to 1.9 million total viewers, on par with the 2 mil who sampled Devious Maids’ debut back in June. And in the 18-49 demo, the Witches conjured 905,000 viewers, up 10 percent from the Maids‘ demo delivery.

June Squibb (About Schmidt, The Young and the Restless) has been tapped to portray Hannah’s grandmother on the upcoming season of Girls, per Showbiz411.com.

  • Witches of East End was great. Very “Charmed”-esque but a bit more edgy. I hope it grows like Devious Maids did. The cast is excellent!

  • Witches was decent and the demo for it is bonkers….900k/1.9mill were in the target audience.Please recast the mother though,she is not how I pictured Joanna.

  • WGN America is making it’s own shows?! What the heck? How is going to affect smaller nets like CW and Fox, are they looking to compete with the big boys?
