    Yay for Dan Bucatinsky!

  2. lariet50 says:

If Guest Actor in a Comedy Series doesn’t go to Bob Newhart for TBBT, we riot!!

    • Ellie says:

Bob Newhart won his Emmy for Guest Actor in a Comedy Series for TBBT TONIGHT. His category is included in the “Creative Arts Emmy Awards” that happens the week BEFORE (though is televised the night before, this year being NEXT Saturday night) the Primetime Emmys broadcast, which is on a Sunday evening. Here’s the quote from the article stating that fact:

“No, we’re not talking about the 2013 Primetime Emmys broadcast — you’ll have to wait till next Sunday, Sept. 22 at 8/7c for that — but rather, the Creative Arts Emmy Awards, handed out at Sunday evening the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles.”

So you do not need to get out your picket signs and riot, as you’ve gotten your wish. I really don’t mean to sound harsh, but read the article before you post comments…sometimes you’ll get great info earlier then expected!

      • Stacy says:

I was following this article last night and they were posting awards as they happened. When I first checked, it did not have guest actor in a comedy posted yet. There was a comment on the bottom of the article to check back for more categories. When I checked back later, it was there. So, when lariet posted the comment, it was probably before that particular award was announced.

        • lariet50 says:

Yes Stacy, this is what happened – thanks for the assist!

Ellie, get your panties untwisted – sometimes it’s better to just move on and not try to start crap online just because it makes you feel important.

  3. Lily says:

Happy for 30 Rock, well deserved. =)

  4. Whitewalker says:

First Emmy for Game of Thrones!

  5. Jo says:

    Happy Shmemmys night everyone!

  6. Jared says:

In what universe did CANDELABRA have better makeup and prosthetic makeup than HORROR STORY?!?!

  7. Stephanie says:

Wow, the Tony Awards denied Alan Menken the EGOT!

  8. Gem says:

Emmy giving itself an Emmy. Too funny!

  9. wordsmith says:

“Special Visual Effects in a Supporting Role” – I think I get what they mean by that, but it’s a strange name for that award.

  10. Kat says:

It would be nice if you actually listed the winners instead of just the show they are attached to. For example, two editors from Breaking Bad were nominated for best editing. Saying “Breaking Bad” won doesn’t tell me the winner.

    • Josh says:

It would be nice if people didn’t act so entitled to information that is interesting, but truthfully meaningless. Perhaps they are trying to update quickly and nought the name of the show would be enough right now. So let’s chill.

  11. christopher bee says:

Bear McCreary, finally your long deserved Emmy! I´m happy.

    • Emily says:

Yesssss! I met him this summer, and he is the most deserving guy! So so happy for him. To bad he wasn’t rewarded during BSG.

  12. TJ says:

Emmy’s can’t win an Emmy. The variety sound mixing Emmy went to the Grammy’s.

  13. mdbchud says:

Sad that no one has yet to salute Bob Newhart. Congrats Mr Newhart. It is inconceivable that you have not won before. Thank you for all the laughter you have given us over the years. Here’s to many more.

  14. Ella says:

Is it crazy that I’m thrilled for How I Met Your Mother?!

And I thought they gave the reality host awards at the prime time event?

  15. lariet50 says:

Woo hoo for Bob Newhart! Hugely thrilled for him. And so glad I don’t have to riot – it is getting kinda late, and I’m in my pajamas and whatnot.

  16. lariet50 says:

How quickly do you suppose it’ll be before we can find video of Bob Newhart’s acceptance speech somewhere?

  17. Jules says:

Tim Gunn has an Emmy!!!!!! Hooray!

  18. FunFact says:

FUN FACT: I sat right next to Dan Bucatinsky @ the American Idol Season 2 finale. He could not have been nicer — not jaded by Hollyweird. Good for him.

  19. Brandon says:

Did they move the Outstanding Choreography award to the prime time awards or is it just not listed here?

    • Cosima says:

I second this question, I can’t find the choreography award on any published list of winners. I’m still hoping SYTYCD wins an Emmy.

  20. Cristiana says:

    Carrie Preston!!!

  21. Who’s Dan Bucatinsky and what other roles did he appeared in? Don’t know much about the actor.

      • Jessica says:

I know he’s in the show ‘Web Therapy’ with Lisa Kudrow. He does a lot of behind the scenes stuff as well. I know he works on Grey’s Anatomy. He even wrote an episode for them once.

BTW…I see you have the name Flacco Kaepernick. Does this mean you are a Ravens AND 49ers fan? I am a huge Ravens fan, so love Flacco!

  22. CW says:

    Carrie Preston…so well deserved!

  23. Jessica says:

Lighting Design/Lighting Direction For A Variety, Music, Or Comedy Special — Super Bowl XLVII Halftime Show Starring Beyoncé

Beyoncé’s Super Bowl Halftime Special gets recognition for lighting at the same event where the lights went out for half an hour. LOL! I just find this ironic. And no I’m not one of those people who thinks she caused the blackout.

Also, congrats to Dan Bucatinsky, Carrie Preston and Bob Newhart who all did amazing work (in my opinion).

  24. Miranda says:

Look I enjoy Scandal for all its over-earnest slickness as much as the next person, but Dan Bucatinky is the most laughable performer out of them all and its is ludicrous he was nominated over more worthy performers on Breaking Bad, Justified, The Good Wife, The Killing, etc etc.
So for him to then win is beyond, just urgh!

  25. Shar says:

    Choreography awards winners??

  26. Gerald says:

Can’t believe that was Bob’s First Emmy. I just re-watched that episode and thought for sure he was going to get the Emmy for Guest actor. How could he not. Good for him.

  27. Alexandre says:

Carrie Preston, finally! AMEN. So long overdue. She built up such a phenomenal character, it’s hard to even realize she’s not a regular when she shows up. Love. Her.

  28. Mary says:

When do they give out Emmy’s for choreography?

  29. Joseph says:

Very much happy for Bob Newhart !
