TVLine has learned exclusively that the Secret Life of the American Teenager alumna has landed a recurring role in Season 2 of the ABC comedy.

She’ll play Jane, Reggie Jackson’s apparent soulmate who puts him in a trance-like state and sends Amber into a rage.

• It’s official: Ryan Seacrest has been named host of Million Second Quiz, NBC’s new 24-hour live game show. The competition series finds contestants testing their knowledge and endurance in a battle of trivia for 12 days and nights.

• CBS is redeveloping its untitled Jim Gaffigan comedy pilot for the 2013-14 season, TVLine has learned. The project, based on the comedian’s real life, centers on a “happily married and harried” NYC father of five.

• Zero Hour‘s double-episode series finale on Saturday night clocked in with an average of 1.8 million total viewers and a 0.3 demo rating.

• Factoring in Live+7 DVR playback, Disney Channel’s Teen Beach Movie premiere amassed 13.5 million total viewers, making it the second-most watched cable TV movie ever (trailing only High School Musical 2‘s 18.6 mil).

• MTV has greenlit four new series: The Untitled Virgins Project, which follows the lives of abstinent young adults; MTV’s House of Food, a cooking competition for young aspiring chefs; the munchie-based cooking competition Snackdown; and The Ex and the Why, in which exes confront past issues and try to make amends.

    Zero Hour had a lot more potential than this 13 episode season showed. Too bad it was canceled after 3 episodes
