Parks and Rec Exclusive: Comic Billy Eichner Cast as [Spoiler]'s Eagleton Doppelganger

Billy Eichner Parks and RecreationParks and Recreation‘s “bizarro” world continues to take shape, with actor-comedian Billy Eichner set to appear in Season 6 as the Eagleton counterpart of a key Pawnee public servant.

TVLine has learned exclusively that Eichner, host of Fuse’s Billy on the Street, will play the doppelganger of Retta’s self-treating, auto-obsessed Donna.

“He’s one of the funniest human beings I have ever seen in my entire life,” raves exec producer Mike Schur, “and he’s Donna’s Eagleton doppelganger.”

The Eagleton-Pawnee plot, which will take place over several episodes, finds the rival towns embarking on “a joint venture,” explains Schur, which will allow viewers to finally meet the Pawnee crew’s equivalents. ” If you were in the Eagleton Parks Department, what would it look like? We wanted to show that world.”

Eichner brings to three the number of bizarros cast so far, joining Kristen Bell (as Leslie’s counterpart) and Sam Elliott (as Ron’s “twin”). Schur is still on the lookout for April’s double, while Tom’s copy is being kept under wraps. “Tom’s doppelganger is a spoiler,” he says. “It’s not who the actor is – it’s the concept behind it.”

  • Isn’t the character Parker Posey played the Leslie Knope of Eagleton? Will she be back?

    • I’m not sure if she was an exact counterpart, or just a women in the government from Eagleton.

      • Sounds as if Kristen Bell is in that role…Not sure what happened to Parker Posey’s character. She might be too busy to show up.

    • Parker Posey was Leslie’s former best friend who took a job in the Parks and Recreation Department of Eagleton after Leslie turned it down. It ruined their friendship. Heidi Klum will actually be the equivalent of Leslie Knope – City Councilwoman of Eagleton.

      • Heidi Klum is a mayor from Denmark that they meet at the Women’s convention in London in the first episode. Kristen Bell is playing Leslie’s counterpart from Eagleton. But I’m very excited to see this doppleganger episode!!

    • She wasn’t the Leslie Knope, she was just Leslie’s old friend in a similar job. Their personalities were very different, and Leslie would never feed JJ’s waffles to a dog.

  • Worst Parks & Recs news I’ve ever heard. This guy is so awful and unfunny. Can’t even begin to imagine how he can be Donna’s doppelganger. She’s far too awesome.

  • Maybe Jean Ralphio will get the Tom doppelgänger job at Eagleton so he’ll be the reason we’re seeing these people.
