  • If this is Julia finding a friend and someone to lean on when times aren’t great at home, awesome.

If this is a potential “love interest”, no thank you, for several reasons. Mainly, there’s no way in the world that Parenthood would ever break any of its long term couples up, apart from the death of one of the spouses. (I mean, Joel and Julia just decided to keep Victor, so with the way this show is written, there’s no chance they’d split up.) Thus, characters like the woman Joel eyes next season and the receptionist from season three just feel like pointlessly soapy wheel spinning that suck up time that could be used for main characters.

Like, when was the last time Camille even had a story by herself? The one mention of her art classes?

  • Instead of bringing in new characters to mess with their marriage, they should show them with their children more. The show is called Parenthood, after all.

  • How about we get some friends for the main characters of opposite genders that DON’T end up being love interests? Men and women can be friends! It’s called progress.

  • So now Joel and Julia are going to have temptation to stray. I really do not like that!

The reason I love parenthood so much is bc it is about a strong family bond, The cheating and backstabbing is better left in shows like desperate housewifes and mistresses,

  • Julia and Joel will be fine. Julia will regard the new guy as no more than a friend. Joel will defend Julia to that silly woman he works with. No need to make this show into the evening equivalent of “Days of Our Lives”.

  • Hmm. I like Joel and Julia. The show, however, doesn’t have a divorced couple, which is the reality in many families. I can see why it might happen.

    • Uhh… yes they do. Sarah and Seth are divorced. Hence why she and her kids moved in with Zeke and Camille.

  • Focus on Joel and Julia’s challenges as parents of two, not some outside romantic garbage. Is it sooo wrong for a couple to be happily married on tv?

  • Awww I Think Joel And Julia make A Great Couples And Victor Just Joined The Family So It’s Gonna Be Hard For Him To Keep Up And Sydney. Been Always Around Do She’s Gonna Not Like This Idea

  • Man, I was really hoping he was for Sarah!!! I will be a little as if we mess with sweet Joel, he is the best!

  • I think the great bond between Julia & Joel is a show anchor – a basis from which joy radiates through other characters. Don’t mess with that! But I’m happy to see a story line that puts them in the spotlight. I’d love to see them interact with outside friends though. If the outsiders were to develop crushes on them it would be wonderful to watch them not be tempted and stick together! PS. There is a divorced parent on the show – Sara. We just don’t have to watch them fight anymore.
