On TV this Friday: Surf’s up in Disney Channel’s Teen Beach Movie, Aziz Ansari parks it at Comedy Bang! Bang!, the Treehouse Master creates wedded bliss in the season finale and Continuum courts disaster. As a supplement to TVLine’s original features, here are seven programs to keep on your radar tonight.
8 pm Teen Beach Movie (Disney Channel) | Ross Lynch (Austin & Ally) and Maia Mitchell (The Fosters) star as teen sweethearts who find themselves swept into a retro surf musical movie called Wet Side Story. Their efforts to find a way back to 2013 are complicated by the romantic interests of the movie’s leading lady and man. (Think High School Musical meets Beach Blanket Bingo meets Back to the Future.) A sneak preview of the new Disney series Liv and Maddie follows at 9:45; get a first look.
9 pm Hawaii Five-0 (CBS) | Repeat to Revisit: This prequel to the series’ pilot finds McGarrett and Catherine crossing into North Korea to retrieve the remains of a fallen friend, which trips McGarrett’s memories of his last mission there. Summer strummer Jimmy Buffett and returning guest star Terry O’Quinn (Lost) appear.
9 pm Magic City (Starz) | Ike and Meg grow close as she uses connections to fight the gambling bill; Ben makes Stevie an offer.
10 pm Continuum (Syfy) | Kiera and Carlos race to protect the family of a compromised juror on Julian’s trial.
10 pm Treehouse Masters (Animal Planet) | Season finale: Pete builds a magical honeymoon suite for newlyweds who want to spend their first night together up a tree. (Not yet renewed.)
10 pm Real Time With Bill Maher (HBO) | Maher interviews killer whale trainer John Hargrove and then has a roundtable discussion with journalist Rula Jebreal, former Florida Rep. Conie Mack and tax-reform advocate Grover Norquist.
10 pm Comedy Bang! Bang! (IFC) | Aziz Ansari (Parks and Recreation) makes merry with Reggie and Scott.
