Orphan Black Cast Talks Tatiana Maslany Emmy Snub, New Clones, Felix/Paul Sexual Tension

Get More: Comic-Con, Interviews, Video

The Orphan Black team is “feeling loved, not snubbed,” to quote a recent tweet, despite series lead Tatiana Maslany coming away from this year’s Emmy nominations empty-handed.

And hopefully that love will serve to bolster the audience for BBC America’s rollicking drama about “genetic identicals,” seven of whom to date have been played by Maslany.

“It is nice that our show gets more publicity out of [the snub],” the actress shared with Michael Ausiello in TVLine’s Comic-Con interview suite. “Hopefully people go like, ‘Oh, who are they talking about…?’”

Plus to date, the series has enjoyed “insane support” from fan groups such as The Clone Club and The Clonesbians, says Jordan Gavaris (aka Felix).

Also in this video Q&A: Dylan Bruce weighs in on the PG and X-rated nicknames for his character, as well as ponders Paul’s end-of-season status; the trio mull the idea of Felix having a clone (perhaps a butch military bud of Paul’s?); and, yes, the topic of Felix/Paul sexual tension arises, leading Gavaris to tease a Season 6 wedding. (But what role would Helena play in the ceremony? Watch the video to find out!)

  • “What does Helena do?” “Rest in peace” I love them! Still bitter about the Emmys but can’t wait to see more of Tatiana kicking ass

  • It’s so bizarre seeing Jordan talk sans accent. Tatiana seemed rather gracious about her snub, which makes me like her that much more. It must be surreal and nice to know that it warranted a Twitter trend. Maybe Golden Globe voters will take note and right this wrong. So grateful about and excited for a second season of the best new shows this year(it tied with Hannibal in my book).

    • It’s also weird to see only 3 people, but again that’s a testament to Maslany that she believably portrays multiple people.

  • Interesting to see Tatiana actually listening when her costars speak. So used to actors zoning out during interviews when they aren’t the focus.

  • I’m still stunned. I honestly thought there was no point in nominating anyone else, not even to fill out the bracket, because Tatiana’s performance was just so head and shoulders above everyone else this year. And then to not even get nominated? It’s stupifying.

  • They seem so fun! It’s always nice to see costars enjoying an interview together. Makes me like all of them more.

  • If there’s ever going to be a spinoff, I’d hope it’d be Paul/Felix.
