Tatiana Maslany Young Hollywood AwardsAt least one awards-giving body is doing right by Tatiana Maslany this week.

Indeed, while the Orphan Black star’s jaw-dropping performance got snubbed when the 2013 Emmy Award nominations were announced Thursday morning, she’s among the first group of honorees for the 2013 Young Hollywood Awards, which celebrate the best emerging young talent in film, music and television.

The first wave of winners includes:

Crossover of the Year: Lucy Hale, Pretty Little Liars
Actor of the Year: Kit Harington, Game of Thrones
Breakthrough Performance – Male: Liam James, The Way, Way Back
Breakthrough Performance – Female: Tatiana Maslany, Orphan Black
Style Icon: Kelly Osbourne
Superstar of Tomorrow – Female: AnnaSophia Robb, The Carrie Diaries

The show will be broadcast for the first time on August 1 (8/7c on The CW).

Additional honorees and presenters will be announced in the coming weeks.

The Young Hollywood Awards is a venture of Penske Media Corporation, which also owns TVLine.

  • Out of all the young actors on Game of Thrones, Kit Harrington? Nothing against him, but no.

    • Masie Williams deserves all the young actress awards.

      • Or Jack Gleeson. Certainly not Kit.

      • I agree, I have read the books and she one of my stand outs for bringing her character to life.

    • I agree.
I like Kit, but I think both Jack Gleeson and Richard Madden (just think of how he looked when he said “Mother” in the Red Wedding ep) deserved this more than Kit.

  • Agreed. To me Tat Maslany should win all the awards there are, and lil’ Maisie Williams should get award too. She is young here!

  • In ny etes, Emmy’s has lost all their credibility. Critics’ choice television awards are by far the most fair.

  • Excuse my ignorance, but what does Crossover of the Year mean? What’s she crossing over from?

    • Music??? But her album isn’t out. Her eyes? Is she cross-eyed?

  • Im not sure what Crossover of the Year is exactly but my guess would be that Lucy Hale won because of her recording a country album while starring on Pretty Little Liars.

Also happy for AnnaSophia Robb. She’s a wonderful actress and worthy of the recognition.

  • Ummm of the PLL girls, Troian is by far the most talented…

    • Apparently she needs to “crossover” more.

  • Ariana Grande deserves one for young music. She’s really branching out this year and her following is huge for only releasing three singles.

    • She was sick and couldn’t attend

      • Sorry if she was sick but really odd they wouldn’t mention an actual award winner who wasn’t there to speak for herself! Not that I want to criticize an awards show smart enough to nominate and award true talent (stupid Emmys!)! Tatiana Maslany is quite amazing!
