Witches of East End CastWitches of East End is tinkering with its brew.

Gossip Girl and Royal Pains actor Patrick Heusinger, who was cast as the fiancé of Jenna Dewan-Tatum‘s reluctant witch, has exited Lifetime’s spellbinding new drama, TVLine has learned exclusively.

Heusinger’s character, the JFK Jr.-esque golden boy Dash, will be recast.

Lifetime handed Witches a 10-episode order back in January. The series centers on Joanna Beauchamp (Julia Ormond) and her two adult daughters Freya (Dewan-Tatum) and Ingrid (American Dreams’ Rachel Boston), both of whom unknowingly are their family’s next generation of witches.

The cast also includes Mädchen Amick as Joanna’s sister Wendy.

Maggie Friedman, who helmed ABC’s similarly-themed Eastwick, will serve as showrunner.

  • I wish they would announce a premiere date. Lifetime always seem to announce new series and not air them for a full year.

  • What about Nicholas Gonzalez? He was cast for this show as a series regular but is now a series regular on ABC’s “Resurrection”. Will he be recast too or is he doing both shows?
