Clear History, a HBO Films entry premiering Saturday, Aug. 10 at 9/8c, stars Curb Your Enthusiasm creator/star Larry David as a marketing executive for a start-up electric car company who loses out big time after giving up his share in the biz prior to a billion-dollar sales boom. Personally destroyed and publicly humiliated, David’s character hides away in a small island off the Massachusetts coast until something from the past threatens his new life.

Jon Hamm (Mad Men), Bill Hader (Saturday Night Live), Philip Baker Hall, Kate Hudson (Glee), Michael Keaton, Danny McBride (Eastbound & Down), Eva Mendes (makeup ads…?), Amy Ryan (The Office) and Curb alum J.B. Smoove also star.

The eight-episode comedy series Hello Ladies, starring The Office scribe and Life’s Too Short/Extras player Stephen Merchant, will bow Sunday, Sept. 29 at 10:30 pm, leading out of Eastbound & Down. In it, Merchant plays a gawky Englishman searching for the woman of his dreams in Los Angeles. And… good luck with that, sir.

  • Eva Mendes (makeup ads?) HA!! That was great. None of her roles are memorable because she never breaks out and does character work. She just always seems to play the obligatory babe in all her movies.
The Stephen Merchant show sounds fun. Can’t wait for Boardwalk, but it’s going to be sad to watch it without (SPOILER!!!!!!!) Owen and Gyp.
I wish Larry David would make a decision on what he wants to do about Curb. That has been on hold forever. Time to sh*t or get off the pot there, Larry. Make a decision.

  • Eva Mendes was recently in The Place Beyond the Pines. His performance was great. I’m not the only one who thinks so.

  • A profitable Electric Car company? Now you’re stretching reality just a bit too far.

  • Will cancel HBO now until Nov, then catch up on Boardwalk Empire. HBO is just a waste of money with nothing worth watching for now.
