According to Deadline, which first broke the news, the CBS comedy is looking for an actress in her late teens to early 20s to play the long-lost daughter of Charlie Sheen’s late alter ego, Charlie Harper.

The character will turn up in the show’s season premiere and promptly move in with Walden (Ashton Kutcher) and her uncle Alan (Jon Cryer).

  • Does that imply that a woman is simply half a man?

    • This. Though not entirely surprising given how poorly women are represented on this show.

    • IF they could get her ,, my choice would be Evanna Lynch ,, who played Luna Lovegood in the Harry Potter Series , she could play a sort of spacey but actually very sharp young woman that sees thins much more clearly then people give her credit for ,

      • I see her more likely on Chuck Lorre’s ‘Mom’ than I do on TAAHM.

    • Do we need to get to this? A person (man or woman), it is half a man and half a woman. I don’t like this show, but if they want to get the fans they lost, implying there’s a part of Charlie around, could be a good way to try it at least.

        • Wow ! A female to replace “jake Harper” . I think that’s insane that she is Charlie’s lost daughter . Charlie never mentioned a daughter in the first place . Ever since Charlie is gone and now jake is gone , Two and half men will be gone – mark my words !

  • WTFudge!!!! Get out of here with this mess!!! So what the new name of the show will be “Two and a Half Men and a Half Lady”? This is ridiculous and what, she’s coming to live with Alan in Walt’s house? So not only will he have one freeloader, he’s bring a bastard kid from his dead brother with him too? And wasn’t this the idea that so many people thought should have been used to introduce Ashton’s character or why didn’t they just make Judith’s other kid Alan’s since they hinted around that before? CANCELLATION TIME!!!!

    • I have no issues with Jon Cryer the actor and he appears to be a solid human being. But have not bothered with this show since they went way overboard making his character one of the least likable on TV. Someone so worthless holds no comedic value. Being pathetic and whiny is not funny.

Comment by daviduter – May 31, 2013 07:30 AM PDT  Reply To This Post
      • Jon Cryer deserves another hit tv series. His comic timing is great. He’d be good as Felix in a revival of Odd Couple on stage.

  • They might still also bring in Judith’s younger son, who turns out to be Alan’s. Then Charlie’s daughter can get a job at an Italian restaurant, and the show can be retitled, “Two And A Half Men And A Young Woman…And A Pizza Place”.

  • CBS better have a “final season” for Two and a Half Men. Still hasn’t been the same without Charlie Sheen (DUH WINNING) but Ashton Kutcher continues to be more boring than ever. :-(

Comment by Jack Bauer 2.0 – May 29, 2013 12:06 PM PDT  Reply To This Post
    • This is what I don’t understand is that most the comments I read all around the web are how the show sucks since Ashton joined but the ratings are still decent. How is that? It makes me wonder if people really do just watch CBS in general because they don’t feel like changing the channel after they watch a show at 8 pm, say BBT, or if they don’t want to find something to watch.

  • who could pull off a female Charlie Harper? hmmm I’m glad Miley Cyrus already appeared she would probably be main candidate.
the brinette the100 female lead would be a good choice- Marie Avengopulus or something.
and there is that girl which appeared in Inbetweeners as Lauren. played a great nasty chick.
I mean it isn’t about her being a half man it’s about the Charlie connection + new chemistry in the show. I mean I love every episode with Berta she is hilarious.

Comment by July – May 29, 2013 03:43 PM PDT  Reply To This Post
    • No they don’t. Most of these characters have been shed. Probably due to cost cutting. They will hire an actress who is familiar, but by no means a “name actress” for a fraction of the cost of the others.

  • I’m sorry but that is just stupid!!! Really? Come on guys the Herb idea was a great one. Have Herb move in with Alan and Walden not some long lost daughter that is just asinine. I have been a loyal watcher and supporter since the beginning but if this is really true I will not be watching next season. SMH in total disappointment.

Comment by canadian ninja – May 29, 2013 10:03 PM PDT  Reply To This Post
  • I always thought that they should have had Alan inherit the house when Charlie died. Then Judith kicks Herb out (which she did end up doing anyway) and he comes to live with Alan in the beach house. Herb and Judith share custody of “their” daughter Millie. And we bring back up the fact that Millie is very likely Alan’s daughter, which was planted then never discussed again. Then Alan could spend time with her while she spends weekends at the beach house with Herb. Much better show.
And definitely not a fan of the daughter concept. Even without her, the fact that Alan is still allowed to live there is highly unlikely. Like someone said above, now he is bringing his dead brother’s lost daughter too?? Umm…NO.

Comment by Christy – May 29, 2013 04:21 PM PDT  Reply To This Post
    • THIS!! My friends and I tossed this idea around several times. Alan or his mom gets the house. Alan and taterhead remain in residence. Then Herb gets booted by Judith!! Or they wouldn’t even have had to kill of Charlie!! Just left he and Rose in Europe, never to return. Herb was a pediatrician, Alan the chiropractor. And it would have given the three guys a new character to play off of in the person of Herb and Judith’s daughter!!!! MISSED OPPORTUNITY!!

  • The ratings for this show must be rigged! I don’t know anyone who still likes it much less watches it because it is AWFUL! The show was great when Charlie Sheen was on but Kutcher is a nightmare! Plus, the cast had such great chemistry with Sheen! Who cares if Sheen preferred women he had to pay – the guy has talent! Lorre is out of his mind if he thinks this latest idea is a good one! Though I think Lorre is a jerk, a hypocrite and a liar…he tries to make it seem as though all their issues are Sheen’s fault but fans of the show know Lorre was using his vanity cards to make comments about Sheen well before Sheen said anything about Lorre or the show. Then Sheen finally got sick of Lorre’s nonsense which was probably much worse on the set and started firing back and Lorre couldn’t handle it! Sorry Chuck but if you can dish it out then you need to be able to take it…

  • Good lord, enough with the whining! Yes it’s called Two and a Half Men, it’s just a freakin’ title. I’m pretty sure it’s been on long enough that the name can stay without actually having 2 1/2 men featured as the stars!

I personally think this can be interesting if they cast the right actress.

  • I think the Lohan thought would be perfect if you’re looking to grab a similar feeling of Charlie in the last season. That is, of course, if she wasn’t batsh*t crazy in real life. Think it’s time to put this show out of it’s misery.

Comment by Casey Roche – June 1, 2013 08:18 PM PDT  Reply To This Post
  • It’s kind of sad in a way. I’ve never watched the show until I caught it on one of the cable networks and I think it was hilarious. I haven’t watched it with AK as I also worked with him when I was in the industry and whew…he’s a wild one. As for Angus T. Jones, when he was a kid, I stood in for him once or twice on a movie and the whole family was nice, so I’m not sure what happened and why he suddenly dissed the show, but the point is if it ain’t broke don’t fix it. THIS show apparently has been broke several times so I highly doubt they’d be able to fix it. Angus and Charlie were both hysterical and for a kid, Angus had impeccable comedic timing.

Let the show rest in peace already. Let it go out on an upswing, not a downswing.

I hope CBS makes season 11 the final season I’d be suprised if they give this show a 12th season.
