  1. Jay says:

AWESOME news! SVU, Parks & Rec, and Parenthood are 3 of my favorite shows!

  2. Char says:

  3. Lauren says:

Oh happy day! I know Ausiello was saying Parenthood was a sure thing but it still feels better to finally see it happening. Whoo hoo for Parks and Rec too! NBC gets a lot of flak but the network still has my favorite comedy and favorite drama.

  4. DL says:

    Hurray for Parenthood! And Grimm!

  5. Michelle says:

Yay for Chicago Fire and Grimm!!!!

  6. D. says:

Really happy for Parenthood, now they just have to renew community…

  7. graywolf323 says:

excited for more Parenthood, Parks & Rec and Grimm :-D

  8. Matt says:

Let the Save Community comments commence!

    • Paul Cox says:

Let Community Die with Dignity is more apt. It’s not what it was, and nobody wants to see it get even worse.

      • Sg. Grant says:

I’m all for saving Community. However, I’d like to see Comedy Central save it, and bring back Harmon. Just imagine what it could become on a network like Comedy Central. It could be paired with Workaholics and I would watch an entire hour of programming on CC, which only happens now during the Daily Show and Colbert.

        • Paul Cox says:

I don’t know what kind of salaries the Community cast earn at present, but it’s probably more than Comedy Central could afford. I think they pay Anthony Jeselnik in porn dvds.

      • tripoli says:

        Totally agree with you, Paul.

  9. Jessica says:

Thank goodness parenthood is renewed. The thought of no Bravermans on my tv was a scary one.

    • May says:

I agree. I love this show. It sounds stupid but it does make me laugh and cry. I wish I had a family as supportive as they are towards each other. I only wish that we didn’t have to have a ‘season final’e every year. I guess when you’re worried about getting canceled every season it’s better than leaving your fans hanging though.

    • Spencer says:

Seriously. And for a full 22 episodes! I’m really freaking excited.

    • Ben says:

I agree. Five seasons is the point where, to me, any series feels like its been given its day. From here, every additional season is a bonus, and I’ll be happy for Jason Katims to wrap it up on his own terms whenever he sees fit. Having said that… I think this renewal takes it to 90 episodes, so it needs at least another 10!

  10. John says:

I have tried to find out if Monday Mornings is renewed. Does anyone know? My wife and I really enjoy the show.

    • MrMank says:

Well, that’s not an NBC show, but from the little I’ve heard, I don’t think TNT is renewing it.

      • John says:

didn’t realize this was strictly an NBC forum. As my granddaughter would say, ” My Bad “.

        • skytzo425 says:

Don’t worry about the jerks my man, some people just look for reasons to treat you like your stupid because they’re miserable human beings and for some weird reason being an A$$hole makes them feel better. You may inquire about any show you like where ever you like. This is AMERICA after all.

As for Monday mornings, everything I’ve heard points to the ratings being quite horrible and TNT not renewing it.

          • drhenning says:

Even Dallas didn’t perform that great on Mondays against first run Network fare… I think the only TNT show other than sports that did well was “The Closer”… TNT even buried poor ol Leverage on Sundays at 9pm.. How in the world did they expect that to get a decent audience???? I think the fanbase of MM’s were David E Kelly fans who were otherwise watching the major network shows at 10pm if at all.. As a DEK fan, I thought it was a terrific show that got little support from TNT…

          • TV Gord says:

I don’t think MrMank was being a jerk…or rude at all. He was just answering the question.

          • tripoli says:

There was nothing rude about MrMank’s comment. He simply pointed out that this particular article is about NBC shows. He also offered what he has heard about the show in question. If anything, you are the one who is being a rude jerk. Take a seat.

          • Dory says:

I only get to see SVU reruns these days. I do like the Munch character and of course Olivia. I did get a little used up with her brother Simon but let the show go on for a long time.

        • Zoe says:

This isn’t an NBC forum. But this particular article is.

        • kennyfan43 says:

It is not a strictly NBC forum, but considering that this article is about NBC renewing 5 of their drama series, I don’t see why they would mention TNT or any of their shows….

          • Katherine215 says:

It didn’t seem like he was asking TVLine, just asking other people in general. There’s probably not a lot of forums for or articles about it if it’s that poorly rated, so he likely doesn’t have another place to ask.

    • Iris Noyd says:

Heard it was cancelled….sorry….I liked it too.

  11. Yara04 says:

YEAH!! Happy about Parenthood and Chicago Fire!

  12. Callie says:

Eeek so excited about Parenthood! Also, I’ve been meaning to watch Chicago Fire. Maybe I’ll start it over the summer now that I know it will be coming back. :-)

  13. Allie says:

YESSSSSS!! Parenthood is just such a great show!!

  14. Jared says:

You said 6 in the headline!? But no Parks in the article!? Are you sure about Parks?!?!?!

  15. jimbo says:

    • jimbo says:

And I love that all shows are renewed through 3014. ;-)

      • EmilyK says:

Yeah seriously mistakes in the first email they send out to all of us/first posting of this about Parks & Rec – quite major mistakes at that – and just a completely unfinished article, and then after fixing it, to still have this date mistake is just ridiculous. Seriously, it shouldn’t be that hard to get a proofreader or something to take 1 minute to read it through slowly before you post it to the site.

      • Ben says:

Will Katims still be showrunner then?

    • Kim R says:

I was getting ready to type in all caps as well! Woo hoo for Parenthood!!! :) :) :)

  16. Jaime says:

They would renew SVU and not mention anything about Community or Parks & Rec. Why do they keep the worn out shows? I forgot, this is NBC we’re talking about.

    • Jay says:

They keep the shows with the higher ratings…

      • Jaime says:

SVU may be decent in the ratings, but high they are not.

        • skytzo425 says:

SVU’s ratings are “higher” than Community and Parks & Rec which is what was what Jay said, Not that they’re “high” but that they renew the shows with “higher” ratings. It’s much more profitable yo renew a show like SVU which has 3 times the amount of total episodes than Parks & rec even though the ratings are close, because they’ll get paid that much more for syndication.

          • Rebecca says:

Unfortunately nbc probably loses more $ from SVU at the price to make it and their guest stars of the week than they do from the revenue it brings in. Not smart, nbc; not that I expected much from them.

    • Ari says:

I think they’ll announce comedies next week. Just everybody relax and be patient.

  17. Jen says:

Hooray for Parenthood! But seriously with Parks and Rec?!?! Why is this considered a bubble show?! Renew it!!

  18. Derek says:

Only thing remotely surprising about this is that NBC is giving Parenthood a full season… only the second full season pickup of its run – and its definitely deserved.

    • EmilyK says:

      I agree. :D

    • Could not agree more. It is one of the best, most realistic shows about everyday family life & issues on TV today. It is truly family entertainment with fine acting & wonderful writing. They don’t shove agendas in your face constantly either. They allow the characters to show emotions that are normal & how they ultimately resolve differences. It shows humanity with all its strengths & frailities. In short, the Bravermans reflect what is great about the decaying institution of marriage, of children being raised by both parents together, & the support of parents, grandparents, siblings, aunts, uncles, & cousins in multiple generations. And my husband & I enjoy watching it together.

  19. Lorie says:

    Hurray for Grimm!

  20. Gaia says:

So happy for Chicago Fire and Parenthood. They’re such great shows!!!!!!

  21. WayneInNYC says:

Was hoping for Season 2 of The New Normal… :(

  22. Eric says:

Yes! I knew Revolution would be renewed, but I’m glad to see it formally announced. Now I just have to pray for Community, The New Normal and Parks & Rec…

  23. sia says:

Parenthood got 22 episodes? that’s so awesome. It usually only gets like 15 I think….

    • Vanessa says:

Yep! I was just getting on here to say how excited I am about that.

    • Kristen says:

I’m beyond excited – Parenthood, Revolution, Law & Order: SVU, and Chicago Fire are some of my favorite shows. I’ve been catching up on Chicago Fire and was really getting worried that it would be my luck that I’ve fallen for this show and it wouldn’t be renewed. I’ve always been a fan of SVU. Loved Parenthood since the Series Premiere, and Revolution is oddly addicting.

  24. As a Community fan, I say let the show die. I’ve only seen one episode this season and did not like it. The show needs to go.

But why wouldn’t they renew Parks & Rec? Too much money to produce now?

  25. Becca says:

    FULL season for Parenthood, yes!!!

  26. Donna says:

    Has Hannibal been renewed?

    • Anna says:

I really hope it gets renewed! Its way too good to be canceled but if it is, then I hope a cable network picks it up.

      • canadian ninja says:

Unfortunately “way too good” is usually an indicator that a show won’t find an audience. As far as crime procedurals go, I definitely think Hannibal is miles ahead of the pack. And Bryan Fuller has too good a track record for me not to watch anything he makes.

    • Mikael says:

I hope Hannibal comes back! It’s so good and not your usual crime procedural. I love how they go into the psychology of the characters. And I heard they might do some Red Dragon stuff if they come back next year.

  27. Stefanie says:

So annoying- I got all excited for a Parks and Rec renew that my first email said and now it’s not true? Major bummer and a big oops that wasnt owned up to!

  28. BH says:

So happy about the Parenthood renewal. Hopefully my tear ducts are ready for 22 more episodes.

  29. DreamRose311 says:

    Go On…

  30. Britta Unfiltered says:

I have low hopes for Community getting renewed, but after last night’s episode, I’m actually sort of fine with that. I hate to see what NBC and Sony has done to my favorite show, and it seems like all the best writers have jumped ship by this point. Those wonderful actors just can’t carry the show by themselves. I’m going to have to wait until 2014 and the return of Louie before I can get excited about a comedy again. But I do hope things work out for Park and Rec. It’s not a show I get super excited to watch, but I do enjoy watching it.

  31. Scotty says:

“renewing five series for the 2013-3014 season”
These shows were renewed for a THOUSAND years? Awesome! ;)

  32. Rachel says:

So excited for Parenthood! Now if ABC will follow this renewal trend and announce Castle’s renewal, I will be one happy girl!

  33. Ed says:

I know it’s not a ratings juggernaut but what about Whitney? I love that show.

  34. Ashley says:

    Yay for “Grimm”!

  35. Martin says:

I personally think its too early to renew Revolution, its ratings are not great. I think its going to get the Smash treatment and at least partially be renewed to save face. And yeah, I know its dvr numbers are really good but its l+sd numbers are about the same as Smash was.

I don’t get why NBC doesn’t air a procedural after it, it worked so well for ABC with Castle and at least retention wise this year, Body Of Proof.

For the record, for all the crazy Belieber-esque fans, I watch the show and enjoy it, just taking from a pure ratings perspective.

I wonder how good Chicago Fire would do behind The Voice. I would maybe move Chicago Fire to Monday at 10, and keeping SVU where out is, put Chicago PD – aka the spinoff in Wednesdays at 10.

Also brilliant love Grimm, especially lately, thrilled for all renewed shows, can’t wait to hear about some more though.

    • Totally agree. The show just isn’t good enough to deserve renewal, especially over Parks and Community (in spite of its weak season not counting last night). It’s just totally dumbed down easy to swallow sci-fi for the masses. I hope Rachel slaps Charlie again.

  36. Shannon says:

    ::cheers:: Grimm!

  37. Josh says:

22 for Parenthood? This is ag reat day for us all

  38. linda2009 says:

Happy dance for SVU! 22 more episodes of Danny Pino–er, I mean, the SVU gang. I’m thrilled!

  39. Hooray for Parenthood! I was worried. The seaon ender, seamed more like a series ender, with almost everyone getting happy ending.

  40. Elyse says:

YAYYYYY Chicago Fire, Parenthood, Grimm and Revolution :) :) :)

  41. Mark P says:

Woohooo! Parenthood back on the front burner…..a big thumbs up from UK!!

  42. lcm27 says:

Grimm and no Parks & Rec. What is wrong with NBC?

  43. Joel says:

I am surprised that Parenthood got 22 episodes I feel that the shorter amount made the stories more focused.

I have a sinking feeling that the delay in comedy renewals means more 13 episode seasons for NBC comedies next year.

    • JJ says:

I actually felt like storylines were rushed because of the shorter season. Like the Drew & Amy pregnancy storyline which only was featured for one episode.

  44. Barbara says:

    awesome…..all 5 shows that I love !!! I can rest easy now !!

  45. LaurenMC says:

    • VCI says:

I know no more having to wait 6 months for new episodes, and with the longer seasons things won’t have to be so rushed so they can flesh out their stories and make me cry even more.

    • Tchele says:

About time Parenthood got a full pickup. I need more Max :)

  46. Jaclyn says:

When did Parks become a bubble show again??? It is listed as ‘A Sure Thing’ on your renewal card.

    What is going on?????

    • Molly says:

It’s ALWAYS been a bubble show. Just look at the ratings. They are TERRIBLE. TVLine listing it as “a sure thing” has always been because they are fanboys, not because they are reporting objectively.

  47. Barbara says:

praying for SMASH to be renewed

  48. rachelle says:

    Yay!! GRIMM!

  49. Boiler says:

I just realized I watch nothing on NBC since 30 Rock. It is nice to see scripted shows get the love!! What should I check out??

  50. So happy for parenthood! Deserved.
