Banshee Exclusive: Emmy Winner Zeljko Ivanek Joins Season 2 Cast as G-Man Racine

Banshee Season 2 Zeljko Ivanek Cast RacineSome cool news for the Fanshees of the world: Emmy winner Zeljko Ivanek is making tracks to Cinemax’s hit drama Banshee to play a pivotal character from the comic book, TVLine has learned exclusively.

The Damages alum will appear in three Season 2 episodes as Jim Racine, a chain smoking, renegade FBI agent who has been tracking Rabbit for 15 years. Racine, who was introduced in the prequel comic Banshee: Origins, arrives in town to investigate Rabbit’s disappearance, creating new complications for Lucas and Carrie.

“When we created Banshee: Origins we had someone like Zeljko in mind, so it’s really crazy that he’s going to bring him to life,” says exec producer Greg Yaitanes, who previously worked with Ivanek on Damages, Heroes and House. “Anyone who has read the comic book will get great insight into Racine’s mission and his obsession with Rabbit.”

Banshee ended its freshman season last week as Cinemax’s most-watched original series. Production on Season 2 begins on April 4.

  • This is AWESOME news. He is definitely one of my favorite actors. I suffered through his last show, Mob Doctor, mainly because of him. I already love Banshee so this only makes it THAT much better! Can’t wait to see the next season.
