chloeThe Mindy Project isn’t done generating headlines today.

On the heels of its second-season renewal, Fox’s rapidly-improving rookie comedy has tapped Chloe Sevigny to join the cast for multiple episodes as the ex-wife of Chris Messina’s Danny, TVLine has learned.

The Big Love vet’s character, Christina, is described as a well-traveled war photographer who’s been with some intimidating men in exotic locales, a fact which makes Danny insecure. She’s looking forward to a romantic dinner with Danny and is disappointed when something suddenly comes up.

Sevigny, who is coming off of guest stints on Portlandia and American Horror Story: Asylum, is on board for at least three episodes (the first of which will air in April).

  • I’ve always been a little curious as to why Danny’s so messed up. This might explain it.

  • This is great news, I am a huge fan of hers. To anyone wondering if she can do comedy, she was hilarious on Big Love, so yes, she totally can. She’s so underrated.

  • Who comes up with these dumb ideas? Sorry, don’t care for her…..not even her looks……inappropriate choice IMHO.

    • I was just thinking that I can’t see him marrying her. Character-wise, maybe, but definitely not lookswise. The picture in this article is the best I’ve ever seen her look.

    • Agreed. We’ll see how she plays the role but in my head, I imagine a sort of perky blonde for Danny’s ex, not someoe who looks like her. Just different in my head.
