Penned by Garcia and to be directed by Jim Burrows, the multi-cam project follows Jack, a recently divorced guy whose life gets more complicated when his parents have marital problems of their own.

Margo Martindale previously was cast as Jack’s mother Carol. Ellis meanwhile will play his sister Debbie. (Fun-ish fact: On Up All Night, Ellis played Arnett’s ex-sister-in-law. Like I said — fun-ish.)

JB Smoove (Curb Your Enthusiasm) is also part of the Garcia pilot ensemble, as Jack’s best bud Deweyne.

In addition to waiting tables on It’s Always Sunny, Ellis’ many TV credits include New Girl and Perfect Couples.

Comments are monitored, so don’t go off topic, don’t frakkin’ curse and don’t bore us with how much your coworker’s sister-in-law makes per hour. Talk smart about TV!

I’d give it a chance just because of JB Smoove. He’s great.

  2. Bowman says:

Sweeeeet! I love The Waitress! Greg Garcia may have another winner here. I just wish CBS wasn’t such an old fogey net.
