• Erstwhile Spice Girl Mel B (aka the “scary” one) will replace departing judge Sharon Osbourne on America’s Got Talent‘s eighth season. Production on the upcoming cycle begins with auditions in New Orleans on March 4, where B will make her debut (and possibly zig-a-zig ahhh.)

• Smash star Jack Davenport has landed the lead in ITV’s six-part series Breathless, Deadline reports. From Combat Hospital‘s Paul Unwin, the period drama centers on a group of gynecology doctors and nurses when Britain was on the brink of the ’60s revolution.

  • Ugh I hate seeing Mel B join AGT. I would much rather see her on X Factor UK. She’s a great judge.

  • JT should be required host at least once a month! Heck, just make it permanent! It is always funny when he is on. Any other time…not so much.

    • Or the American version of “The X Factor”. Mel B is (was?), right now, the hottest property of the franchise worldwide. She is great on the Australian version, but she killed it on the British one. She’ll be way better than Sharon Ousborne.

  • Please no more Andy Samberg this season!!! I hope that Justin can do something other than Omeletteville and Dick in a box!!!!”

Also, I am fed up with all these musical hosts this season. Enough is enough!

    • JT is always great when he hosts… and Bruno Mars was, surprisingly, the best this season… not sure why you’re hating on the musical hosts.

Oh well… fingers crossed for a new Digital short!

  • Those are some pretty big shoes for MelB to fill. Hope she’s good. Last season’s combo of Sharon/Howard/Howie/Nick was perfection. The network should have bent over backwards to keep Sharon, given her whatever she wanted (even though her reasons for leaving are legit). She’ll be missed.

  • If any people involved with SNL see these comments, please bring back the Pandora sketch that you did with Bruno Mars, with JT as the replacement for Mars’ character.

    • They could make it a sketch about how many different things are called Pandora–the planet, the music website, the charm bracelets, and the Greek mythology–just to name a few.
