Based on the Argentine series Mujeres Asesinas, the project — which counts Modern Family‘s Sofia Vergara among its producers — finds Helfer playing Molly Parker, a beautiful and ballsy Ranger who knows how to get the truth and isn’t afraid to ruffle a few feathers on her way there.

Hannah Shakespeare (The Playboy Club) penned the script.

Helfer’s post-BSG credits include Dark Blue, The Firm, Two and a Half Men, Criminal Minds and this week’s Community.

  • So…in other words, this is AMC’s “Longmire” if Katee Sackoff were the lead.

  • Nice. Usually don’t watch shows like this, but I love Helfer. If it gets picked up I’ll watch due to her.

  • Except Mujeres Asesinas had different characters in each episode and focused on the killers, not on the detective… So “based on” pretty much means “we translated the title”.

    • LOL! Yeah, anytime they say “based on…” I pretty much expect it to be NOTHING like the original show.

  • SoUNDS AWESOME!!!!! Tricia has been off tv for far too long. She’s so ridiculously talented and this sounds like a perfect role for her. Badass, doling out some justice and shirking a male-dominated system. Super excited.
    .
Hope she has some supportive awesome lady friends outside of work.

  • I’m glad to see TH back on TV but not thrilled with the sound of the show. I will watch for TH though. Sidenote- She also played “Molly” on Supernatural back in Season 2′s Roadkill. :)

  • Is Tricia Helfer exactly 5′ 9″ or 5′ 10″? Not 100% sure about that.

  • Yeah, sounds like a rehash of Chase but if Helfer can run in boots as well as Kelli Giddish did I’ll give this project a shot.

  • I’ll give this a look just for Tricia Helfer, assuming it gets picked up. I’ve wanted to see her get her own show for awhile now.

  • She was the nail in the coffin for Dark Blue. It was a great show until she showed up.

  • Wasn’t she filming a show for TNT about a woman and a search dog? What ever happened to that?

  • A question about the first and second breaks in “Killer Women”:: was the in-your-face EXCESSIVE length of the breaks based on standard network contempt for viewers, Wall Street-style greed, or simple timeless stupidity? I intend to raise the question on ‘social media’ to see what the consensus opinions are.
