Ready for more of today’s TV dish? Well…

• Bryan Cranston has signed a first look deal with Sony Pictures TV, per Deadline. The pact — which keeps the actor in business with his Breaking Bad bosses — will find Cranston developing and producing new series for the studio, including potential star vehicles for himself.

•  As a dog rescue advocate (I’ve got two of my own!), this is the best news I’ve heard in a long time: Chicago Fire has added an adopted pup Chicago Fire - Season 1 (see photo at right) as a series regular. Pouch made her debut in last night’s installment of the NBC drama, and will be seen moving forward as the firehouse’s canine companion.

26 students from Newtown, Conn.’s Sandy Hook Elementary School will perform “American the Beautiful” during this Sunday’s Super Bowl XLVII pregame show on CBS.

• Comedy Central has renewed Nick Kroll’s freshman sketch series Kroll Show for a 10-episode second season.

• Funnyman Jon Favreau has been tapped to direct Jason Katims’ NBC comedy pilot About a Boy, per Deadline.

  1. Tran says:

Can’t wait for Gerald McRaney’s new gig on Southland this upcoming season beginning February 13th. Really like his stint on Simon & Simon.

  2. Lana says:

You can say she’s from Nikita, but she’ll always be Lady Heather to me…

  3. Britta Unfiltered says:

I totally see Bryan Cranston becoming like Christopher Lloyd where he transitions from acting to producing/developing/directing, and then for acting just occasionally pops up in the random odd episode of Robot Chicken. He’ll be just as good behind the camera as he is in front of the camera. He’s already up for a Director’s Guild Award this Saturday for directing Modern Family.

  4. Jo says:

Are the Republicans going to accuse the Sandy Hook kids of being actors?

  5. Andy says:

Haven’t seen Chicago Fire at all, but now I might have to give it a try someday. That dog looks adorable!

  6. nick1372 says:

I seriously hope they do not sing “American the Beautiful”.

  7. Heathers says:

Jo what is that supposed to mean? That makes no sense whatsoever. I am guessing it is another left wing nutjob attack. If it were reversed, I am sure Tvline would have it deleted.
