The Secret Circle‘s Britt Robertson will soon find herself Under the Dome

CBS’ 13-episode drama, based on Stephen King’s 2009 novel, takes place in a New England community that inexplicably finds itself trapped beneath a massive, transparent barrier. The situation soon turns to chaos.

Robertson will play Angie, an attractive young waitress and aspiring nurse who has dreams of escaping her town, Chester’s Mill.

Before playing Circle‘s Cassie, Robertson was Life Unexpected‘s foster kid Lux. Her other TV credits include Law & Order: SVU, Swingtown and CSI.

She joins previously announced cast members Natalie Martinez (CSI: NY) and Alex Koch and Colin Ford (Supernatural).

Under the Dome is produced by Steven Spielberg’s Amblin Entertainment and will premiere Monday, June 24, at 10/9c.

    good for her.

  2. Lauren says:

Wow good for her….think I’ll be tuning in since her and Colin Ford are in

  3. jimbo says:

Britt Robertson? This show is doomed.

    • liddad says:

Why? Because her last show got cancelled and the one before that lasted 2 seasons? I wouldn’t quite say “doomed”, as she’s proven to be a really talented actress, and we can all see she has the looks to go far too.

    • DoctorWhoFanatic! says:

Well, if it sticks close enough to the book, the show isn’t quite as doomed as… nevermind. X)

  4. ck says:

@jimbo’s not going to get cancelled as it’s only 13eps. Kid has had tough luck so far.

    • jimbo says:

With the luck she had so far, CBS is probably going to pull the plug after airing six or so episodes. I sincerely hope she finds herself a successful and long-running show, she’s one of the most beautiful actresses in TV.

  5. ddddddd says:

Why do casting directors keep hiring this girl? She’s not that talented and the two shows she starred in were canceled pretty quickly.

She’s like the Taylor Kitsch of T.V!

    • iMember says:

Bite your tongue, the girl is beautiful AND talented. Go watch “The First Time” and say she isn’t talented.

I’m really happy for her and hope she finds success. If not, then I can’t wait to see her in more movies. She’s already working on another one.

  6. Adam Bramble says:

    Agree Beautiful and Talented^^^

  7. Adam Bramble says:

Hopefully it will be a good show. It’s a very good book.

  8. gdv says:’ll be interesting to see how they do this show in comparison to the book. Like, is season one going to follow the book for the most part and then branch out in season two? I wonder if the same characters will die/live as in the book? Really curious!

  9. Mary says:

What are they thinking? The girl is a showkiller and can’t act.

  10. jsterling93 says:

It isn’t exactly a tv show it is a long miniseries. There is only going to be the one season so it won’t be canceled or anything like that. If they make it they will air it and it is planned for summer so I think it will be fine.

    • jimbo says:

Has this been confirmed? You know, American Horror Story is a “long miniseries” as well, so it doesn’t necessarily mean it’s going to end after the initial 13 episode run. They very well could leave a door open for another season if it does well ratings wise.

  11. Ace says:

I think I’m going to end up watching this. They’re certainly assembling an interesting cast.

  12. Jaselle says:

Every show she is on gets cancelled. It’s cursed now.

    • Henman says:

Csi and law and order : SUV ran for long enough! Enough with the show killer line.

      • Mary says:

Each of those series she only appeared in an episode, which is hardly enough time to kill those shows. The 3 shows that she had a starring role in have been canceled, and she’s certainly responsible for 2 of those cancelations.

        • G says:

You are a might presumptuous aren’t you? You for a fact know that she is the sole reason the shows she was on were cancelled. Apparently you know exactly the reason why each and every person did not watch the shows was. You are mighty talented, can you please tell me what the lottery numbers for this weekend are too?

I for one only watched the Secret Circle, but her acting was no worse than many other young actors. I enjoyed her and the other characters on that show and will watch shows they are in again. People really need to get over all of the negativity towards many of todays actors and actresses, they are hard working people just like the rest of us.

  13. Dizzle says:

Keeping her in the family then! I’ve enjoyed her other shows so I’m in.

  14. Kalee says:

Poor Brit. Talented yet unlucky. I think the trend will stay the course sadly.

  15. Somerled says:

Well I don’t understand why anyone is complaining since…

She dies even before the dome comes down, and in the first pages of the book, so I guess she’ll die in the pilot…

  16. Jared says:

Britt is a solid actress. Happy to see her back on TV.
