Pilot News: Fox's Drama Orders Include Greg Kinnear's Rake, Modern Sleepy HollowDelirium

GKinnear_300_2On the heels of ordering four comedy pilots, Fox also sent into development a quarter of dramas — including an Aussie adaptation starring Greg Kinnear and a modern-day tale of Sleepy Hollow.

First up, Fox ordered Rake, a character-driven comedic drama by Peter Duncan (who created the award-winning Australian series of the same name) and executive-produced by Peter Tolan (Rescue Me) and Michael Wimer. It stars Oscar nominee Greg Kinnear (Little Miss Sunshine) as Keegan Joye, a brilliant but self-destructive criminal defense lawyer. Kinnear will also be a co-executive producer on the project.

Sleepy Hollow, written and exec-produced by Alex Kurtzman and Bob Orci, is described as a modern-day supernatural thriller based on the legend of the titular Westchester Country, N.Y. town.

Delirium, penned by Karyn Usher (Prison Break), is based on a bestselling trilogy about a world where love is deemed illegal and is able to be eradicated with a special procedure. But with 95 days to go until her scheduled treatment, lead character Lena Holoway does the unthinkable and falls in love. Oops. Peter Chernin and Katherine Pope join Usher as EPs.

Lastly, The List presents this scenario: When members of the Federal Witness Security Program start getting killed, US Marshal Dan Shaker leads the hunt for the person who stole a file with the identities of every member of the program. Daybreak creator Paul Zbyszewski wrote the pilot, with Zombieland director Ruben Fleischer also serving as an EP.

  1. “The List presents this scenario: When members of the Federal Witness Security Program start getting killed, US Marshal Dan Shaker leads the hunt for the person who stole “the list” – a file with the identities of every member of the program” that sounds cool. I wish I had thought of it!

  2. tvaddict says:

The List might go nicely with The Following

  3. J says:

HOLY CRAP DELIRIUM. Those books are awesome. I really hope the show is as good.

  4. Rachel366 says:

I can’t wait for Delirium! Its my favorite series!

  5. Emmah says:

I really hope they cast Benjamin Stone as Alex for the Delirium adaptation.

  6. Andie says:

Delirium is the best! I know that if it gets picked up to series, he won’t show up for a while (if he ever does), but I sure love Julian.

  7. Andie says:

Also, a supernatural show, Sleepy Hollow, by the creators of Fringe? I’ll take it!

  8. Hades says:

Aussie here, Rake is a great show… I hope the adaption works in the US… if you guys get a chance check out the original

    • Diana says:

IMO Kinnear can’t carry the lead in any production. He’s a terrific 2nd. banana, but not a leading man.

    • filmex2000 says:

We have enjoyed both seasons of the Aussie “Rake” on DirecTV’s Audience Channel. In fact, it’s one of our favorite shows on all of TV.
Like Kinnear okay but he is no Richard Roxburgh.

    • love my Cleever says:

Another aussie here. I am in love with Rake ,hope you guys do it justice! You will love Cleever Green.

  9. Maris says:

I’m scared, I wanted Delirium to be a movie, TV shows change so much from the books. I’m scared. Excited but scared.

  10. alexia says:

Can anyone tell me the quality of Delirium? Is it better or worse than Hunger games / Divergent?

    • Andie says:

I liked it better than Divergent but less than Hunger Games. It’s about a *spoiler, I guess*

world where people are basically lobotomized on their 18th birthday so they have no strong emotion – no hate, but no love. Of course, our main character falls in love with a rebel months before her 18th birthday. Some might like Divergent better, but Delirium (and its sequel) captivated me in a way Divergent didn’t.

Much better than the Matched trilogy though if you’ve read that.

    • Elyse says:

i read Divergent and Hunger Games really liked both. i’m working on the Delirium series now… its VERY good!!

    • Clarice Mersi says:

I honestly feel Divergent was better from a story line stand point than either Hunger Games or Delirium although I thoroughly enjoyed them all. There is a major snafu in the sequel to Divergent which may confuse the reader. Up until the very end of the third book in The Hunger Games trilogy and I believe the Divergent trilogy the reader is left skeptical on if the Heroin will end up with the guy that is right. It is clear to an avid reader what will happen in the second book of Delirium from the beginning.

    • Ann says:

I liked Hunger games the best, then Delirium…Divergent 3rd. They were all great books though!

  11. Elyse says:

they might be turning Delirium into a show?! i’m freaking out! such a good book :)

  12. jimbo says:

Looking forward to Sleepy Hollow (Kurtzman and Bob Orci, awesome!) and The List.

  13. Julia Byers says:

Ahhh, Delirium better make it beyond the pilot! That would be so amazing! :D

  14. Shaun says:

Sleepy Hollow seems it might be good.Lots of cruddy pilots coming up this year.

  15. ashley says:

Ohh. My goodness. I love that series so much . It better be as good as the books or I am seriously going to be dissapointed.

  16. BeeJay says:

I really hope that Delirium Tv pilot gets good reviews. It took me a total of 3 days to read the first two books. I would really like to view the story on the screen.

  17. kates2424 says:

I am so there for the Delirium show. They better give it a good chance and knowing network TV, I can’t say that I am confident about that!

  18. Tiffany says:

I love the delirium series but i think it would be better seen as a movie. A show would probably change a lot more about the books then a movie would. Though the idea of the books will make a good series to watch and i will watch it if it gets picked up. even if i am yelling at it for inaccuracies =)

  19. Hailyn Michaelson says:

I LOVED the books, and I think that it would be wonderful if they were made into a TV show!

  20. Hailyn Michaelson says:

Are there going to be auditions (In Minnesota prefferably) ??

I am a HUGE fan of the books, and it would be a DREAM COME TRUE if I got in. But I do realize that acting is like any-other job (even though a more awesome one ) and should be taken seriously. Although you should still love what you do!

  21. Arely Gomez says:

I started freaking out when I read that Karyn Usher is writing the TV show for Delirium (in a good way). I’m not at all worried about it since she wrote Prison Break, which is one of my all-time favorite TV shows. I can’t wait!

  22. Lindsayraquel says:

Asher Monroe Book looks good and so does Benjamin Stone!! I think it should be a youthful guy not one that looks 25 so those are 2 really good people! I am seriously in love with Alex..I mean who isn’t!!! Unless you are boring and want Julian…then ur stupid. I am also really excited about it as a series!!! More time!!! I read all the pretty little liars books and the series is extremely different but it’s fine!!! I liked delirium more than divergent simply because I have a hugeeee crush on Alex. But I liked the divergent series a little more than the delirium series because Julian’s a wimp lol. I read both series (4 books) in 4 days. I plan on reading delirium over and over again until my insides explode. So excited. Someone tell me when requiem comes out

    • Keagie says:

OMG REQUEIM COMES OUT IN MARRRRCHHHHHH!!!!! AHHHHHH so excited but hate the waynthat pandemonium just ends withnalex there like “dude I sacrificed my life for you and you just go and find a new guy like everything is all fine and dandy” **sigh** alex… but anywho I am so pchyed for delirium the tv show :):) yay

A different sort of bonus is the variable reward, this implies you gat a clear percent with the sum a person deposit. The percentage differs from the others for each site – it is usually 20% or perhaps 50%. Some casinos even give you a 100% casino bonus. This is a way to have people in the digital game suites, but a online casino bonus means that you have to play by some policies especially when you wish to redraw your dollars. This can be difficult because after you get a online casino bonus you have to meet some conditions which might be not very easily accomplished. Nonetheless, your efforts will likely be rewarded.

  29. Giselle says:

Ahhhhhhh i cannot wait for Delirium! I seriously love the fact that they want to make it into a show and not a movie! Im so excited hopefully Fox will pick it up!

  30. Tanya says:

Delirium by far is what I will watch.. I love the casting and the storyline and I’ve read the books. It’s gonna be amazing.

  31. ILoveDelirium says:

Drew Roy.he would be an awesome Alex :P

  32. Jamie says:

The delirium show will, very unfortunately, not go through.

  33. Elizabeth Torijano says:

Hate how excited I was to hear delirium in the making process of a television series , and then all of a sudden it got rejected like what !? For not a good reason let me tell you .. The books are incredibly amazing thanks to Lauren Oliver although personally I did not much enjoy the last book requiem but STILL it deserved to go on the big screen .. bummer :( I really wanted to see Daren Kagasoff as Alex <3 :\ … Please give delirium another shot , atleast the PILOT !

    • A says:

I just found out today that Delirium was going to be a TV show, and just now found out it was cancelled. I actually had something to be excited about only to find out it didn’t pull through. I was even more excited because Jeanine Mason from SYTYCD was going to play Hana. I was so looking forward to seeing her. Like you said, GIVE DELIRIUM A CHANCE! PLEASE!!!!!

  34. Clace says:

    YES!! Delirium! THANK YOU FOX!
