TVLine has learned that the Smallville alum will guest-star in a January episode of the long-running CBS procedural as Macy, a young woman who is just getting out of prison after serving two years for possession of stolen property.

Thing is, as Macy claimed all throughout her trial, she was innocent — and now that she’s on the outside, she’s hungry to take vengeance on the boyfriend who left her holding the bag, regardless of the consequences.

Vandervoort, who this year alone previously booked guest gigs on White Collar and Haven (for a pivotal two-episode arc that kicks off Dec. 14 and closes Season 3), next can be seen this coming Sunday in the Lifetime movie Finding Mrs. Claus. Her other small-screen credits include ABC’s V reboot and Instant Star.

  • Laura Vandervoort was without a doubt the best actor on Instant Star, a phenomenal Canadian show exploring the music industry. While other actors generally were great, too, Vandervoort shone the most, and she got to show another side of her acting abilities in V. While I have not seen her work in Smallville, I am excited to see how she works in CSI: NY!

    • You’re right I was watching it this weekend and it holds up over time. Alexz Johnson is a wonderful musician and she has been pursing that for the last few years.

  • So happy to see her keep getting work. Is it me or is her beauty almost preternatural? Wish there had been more of her in “Ted.”

  • Aww man I miss Instant Star. Those were the days.

@Marybeth Mason Tom Welling was merely a pretty face; he couldn’t act his way out of a paper bag so his career has understandably stalled.

    • Stop being a hater. Tom Welling is PAID! He could clearly act because I do not think Smallville would have been on for 10 years!!!

    • Funny, I think that about Vandervoort, not Welling. His various versions of Clark (Kent, red K, silver K, Luthor) always made me feel he didn’t get enough credit for how good he actually is.

    • Christian… I think he not only acted his way out of a paper bag but also into the director and producer’s chair. Granted he has not worked on projects for the past year but are persons not allowed to take time off? You are assuming that the time off is because he can’t work, not because he chooses not to at this time.

PS. based on the candids on the web posted yesterday… He’s not just merely a pretty face…
