The pilot is still in the very early stages of development with Boy Meets World creator and executive producer Michael Jacobs at the helm.

I feel like this series would do WAY better on even ABC Family or ABC. So many people my age (mid twenties) would watch it. I feel like it being on Disney is a wasted opportunity to rope in old fans and viewers.

      • megan says:

I know kids today don’t even know what boy meets world is they won’t be interested.

        • Erika says:

I’m 23 and my 16yr old brother and 12yr old sister love the show when I introduced it to them a couple yrs back. They show repeats of it all the time on mtv2. They even love Saved by the Bell and other shows that are way more dated. I agree though that ABC Family would be a better fit.

        • TY'anna says:

I’m 14 and I use to watch Boys Meets World when I was younger, so I will watching Girls Meets World tonight, so that is not true. I have lots of friends my age and younger who love that show.

          • Katiekins says:

That’s not the point. I’m 18 and love the show. I introduced it to my sister who is 8 and she loves the show. They are saying that it’ll be a good show, just that I its in ABC it’ll have more opportunities with different topics as Riley gets older. Disney channel won’t portray as good of show as the old one is the point everyone is making.

          • chris says:

        • Melissa says:

Why would they not be interested in a show based on a girl their age? She is the main character, not her parents.

          • CocktailJay says:

Exactly. We adults are forgetting that this show is for our children. We had our “Boy Meets World”, let them have theirs. They’ll enjoy it just as much as we enjoyed the prequel. This is not for us.

          • JKR says:

This is for today’s kids, sure. But they are banking on a beloved name and stars that the parents grew up with. So, this is also for the parents. Amazing! A show for the whole family that doesn’t involve singing? Who’da thought!

          • Bj young says:

Im 19 What she is saying is if it gets put on Disney it will not be like boy meets world think about all the things that happened on the show … Disney won’t show many of the situations because their fewers are younger I think Abc family is a great place for the show to be… It would be more of a family show like BMW …

        • Marissa says:

I’m 16 & I absolutely love Boy Meets World. I this show would definitely do better on ABC Family though, I can’t stand the Disney Channel but I will watch it just to see this show.

        • It’s been running in syndication for so long, plenty of teenagers are familiar with it. And if they do it right, I think all of the 20-somethings that grew up with it will watch too.

        • melissa says:

I know exactly wat u mean i grew up watching boy meets world :)

        • Camille says:

        • Sarah says:

Not true. Just look at Degrassi.

          • Jessie Ford says:

I love that you mentioned Degrassi! my sister is about ten years older then me and I was watching it like..ten or so years ago at her house and she was all “OMG I used to watch this when I was sixteen!!” and it’s -still- going on ten years from then.

also, Yes, Girl Meets World may be for our kids, But Disney knows that the parents/older siblings/aunts ect are gonna be watching it to catch a glimpse of the BMWs casts lives

and, um, as an adult who watches the Disneys sitcoms regularly and often, There is plenty of “not so innocent” parts in the shows that just may go over younger viewers heads, and they almost always have a good message while still being entertaining.

          • mara says:

hi cory hi tuagu how are you guys with the baby

        • It doesn’t really matter if kids know what it is or not. People my age who grew up with Boy Meets World will watch it. And, nobody knew about BMW when it first started, yet it had people watching it. The show will do well as long as it stays true to the original.

        • arianna says:

yeah we do! half of us grew up on that. and there are still reruns on mtv

        • Amanda says:

I’m a kid and i happen to know what it is <3 loved boy meet world series c: I look forward to this one too

        • JARJARMCSTEVENS says:

The sad thing is that it will ruin the whole love of it. I was born in 98 so I got in on the end of it and I love the show. I was about to buy the complete series at a store the other day in fact for my sister so we could watch it together. It’s just pitiful how “Girl meets world will” ruin “Boy meets world”. Granted I want to watch it but I won’t be impressed.

        • I cant wait for this show to be on I miss Boy Meets World it was funny and such a good show. I cant believe there doing a spin off its gonna be AWESOME!!!!!!!

        • Im 19 but i know that show i used to watch it all the time when i was little and sometimes i watch it even now. I cant wait to see this spin off!!!!!!

        • Grace says:

Actually I’m 14 and know perfectly well what boy meets world is and love it and I’m very interested…but you are right most of my friends have no idea what B.M.W is! the only reason I do is because I spend a lot of my time watching old shows from the late 90’s – the early 2000’s and I as well debt they will be interested G.M.W needs to be on abc family or abc I think it would have more of a success on there!

    • Lauren says:

i totally agree! Having it on Disney is such a waste, since a lot of the viewers would be older watching it because of a loyalty to Boy Meets World. I feel like ABC Family would be a much better fit.

    • Rebecca says:

I can see your point. Hopefully Disney will do right by it.

      • Lo says:

And for that matter, the show would get even more old viewers if it wasn’t so much about their daughter and her middle school hijinks, but more of a family ensemble. Again, I think this would work so much better on ABC Family.

    • Bob Saget Jr says:

Very true. Disney’s sets and writers wont fit the original show’s style.. but with that being said, at least its happening. i’ll try it

    • dude says:

If you get the Disney Channel, you can turn to it and watch. It won’t kill you. I don’t get people who refuse to watch a network because of its reputation. If you like or want to see a show, why should it matter that it’s on the Disney Channel or The CW or whatever? Are you really that worried about what people think of you? Watch what you like and don’t worry about anything else. If the Disney Channel was forcing them to convert the show into some cookie-cutter Hannah Montana wannabe, I’d see your point but as far as I can see, it’s the same people putting it together with the same cast so it’ll probably be the (moderately) same show we grew up with regardless of whether it’s on ABC or the Disney Channel.

      • Lo says:

It’s not about being ashamed to watch any network…. I don’t think anyone said that. I’m saying that people in their mid twenties don’t watch Disney to begin with, so any marketing they do for the show, could be lost. I’m saying they should put the show on a network that already markets to the 18-34 demo, i.e. a wasted opportunity, as stated above.

      • His dudeness says:

Amen. Also, the original was Disney..

    • Ari says:

I totally agree. I love a lot of the ABC Family shows. I can’t say I have ever bothered to watch Disney channel. I wish ABC Family could claim this show! Hopefully Disney will do it right and make it more like the shows on ABCF and less like the dreck that was Hannah Montana.

    • kelly says:

I agree!!! Why would they put this on the Disney channel? I was really hoping it would be more like the original show, being Disney I think its going to be more childish. I hope I won’t be dsappointed…

    • Sarah El says:

Agreed. Plus, it’ll give it a chance to be a more fully fledged sitcom as opposed to just another meh Disney series.

    • Mia says:

I totally agree! I was excited until I read it would air on Disney. I’m thinking other than the same characters, the show will be transformed t

    • Eboni says:

      so, so, so true.

    • Ana says:

Exactly my thoughts!! I mean, if they put it on Disney the fans of BMW will think it’s for kids!

    • courtney says:

ugh I didn’t know it is going to be on Disney…I actually am a lot less likely to watch it now so you are absolutely right!

    • Mark Hammer says:

      Spot on, I agree 100%.

    • Ashley says:

Well Disney owns ABC and ABC Family as well …. But it being on didn’t would be over dramatic and dumb

    • April says:

Agreed – I’m 21 & would love to watch it on ABC or ABC Family; it should be targeting the age group who remembers it & still watches the reruns on ABC & MTV networks.

      • lauren says:

Agreed. Lets bring back tgif! My sisters and I use to pitch a fit when our parents would make plans on a Friday night because we would miss BMW n Sabrina. Miss the good old days. N much rather see it air on the original channel that BMW was on which is what gmw is based off of. I really hope they can rope in the original members like Eric n Shawn, n of course the Mathews for grandparents. Mr feeny is probably not going to be there, but would b great to see him still a teacher or princapal.

    • cyclone says:

BMW airs reruns on the Disney channel so it does make sense that GMW will air on Disney but having the show on Disney might exclude the old fans of BMW (unless they have children that age) but the old fans aren’t the demographic.

I don’t like the synopsis that Cory will be his own daughters teacher, there are so many ethical reasons why that doesn’t happen IRL, and besides she would need her own Feeny, not her dad.

Cory could still be a teacher in the school, but not Riley’s teacher.

      • april says:

I agree that they shouldn’t have Cory be her teacher, but have to let you know that IRL many kids have been taught by their own parents. I saw it happen all the time in my school.

        • LC says:

Agreed that kids have their own parents as teachers IRL….all the time. I can give you at half a dozen examples between my kids’ two schools now right off the top of my head. I actually think it opens up an interesting dynamic and see nothing wrong with it.

      • Gin says:

BMW was on innocent Disney back when “suck” was a bad word. I was flipping channels today and heard someone on Disney say “sexy.” I am not saying that sexy is a bad word, but children who watch Disney do not need to be throwing that word around. BMW was innocent when the kids were thirteen. And I don’t even understand why Disney put shows out about teem the KIDS who should be watching it are below the age of tweleve. All I have to say is that Disney has digressed and I do not want GMW to go with it. I know it will not be the same, but I hope it still has that same good home feel.

    • Topanga says:

I got my name from that show and I’m 14 I will be watching that how every time it comes on. And so will my friends they already said so.

      • LC says:

Nice! And you’ve just made my point for me. I said in an earlier thread that many of the older fans are now parents to kids that are in the target demo for this. You’re right between the ages of my kids and this is a show that I think we can all watch together….and ENJOY watching together! I don’t think it matters at all what channel it’s shown on.

      • Hannah says:

When I watched BMW as a kid I soooo wanted to name my daughter Topanga. Hasn’t happened yet, glad someone got to have the name.

    • Dee says:

I’m 27,I remember when show would come on during the TGIF days, for you younger kids who weren’t alive then or don’t remember it was an epic night of tv,with Family matters, etc.
Boy meets world was and still is an epic show.I hope that they can do this sequel justice.Would be great to see it more centralized with Cory and Topanga, but I get the point. As a loyal fan of the show, they have to from time to time, bring back “uncle” Shawn. Feeny has to be there, maybe even a mainstay,he’s still acting(most recently on Greys)so I dont see that being a real problem. And of course, the real kicker,a feeny call from Eric.Or as some of you may know him “Plays with squirrels” lol

    • Luke Gross says:

You guys are all retarded its in early development and Disney is the parent company of ABC family which means odds are one the show airs it will air on ABC. Since its in early development all they know is the show has been signed by Disney……the company. Not the channel itself, that hasn’t been disclosed yet.

    • Elle says:

Completely agree. There maybe some that have caught the re-runs but like the cast and original viewers who still love them – I’m now older and in my late 20’s. So one half of me wants to tune in to see what has happened with Cory and Topanga (and *uhm* hopefully Shawn! ;D) whilst the other half of me is screaming… but it’s on the Disney Channel :S

    • Christi says:

I agree completely , when boy meets world originally aired it was on ABC. So why not air it there now?

    • kelly says:

Completely agreed! I’m 24 and the shows I love are on abcfamily!

    • Totes says:

Totes agree with the comment that says GMW should be on ABC or ABC Family. I highly doubt kids who watch Disney would want to watch this.

      • arianna says:

yeah we do. we watch reruns that our parents got us into, i am excited for this , so is my 10 year oldbrother and 13 year old sister. the only bad thing about disney is it has to stay clean, and it probably wont have as long of a runtime, as kids grow out of disney

    • ruby says:

I agree with you on this completely, hope our comments matter and they consider it :)

    • Jasmine says:

I couldn’t agree more. I really feel that by it being on Disney it would capture the right audience.

    • LC says:

How many “old fans and viewers” are parents now to kids who watch Disney Channel? I know I am. I think Disney Channel is the perfect place for this. I’ve been really very impressed with some of the programming that is on Disney Channel. The sit-coms that DC has out there now are very much in line with the old TGIF. Shows like “Good Luck, Charlie” and “Jessie” would have fit right into a line up with the likes of “Full House” and “Family Matters”. And even the new one I caught recently, “Dog with a Blog” was fun. Disney knows their audience, and I think that GMW will do just fine as long as DC stays true to the heart of BMW and continues to hold itself accountable to its audience.

    • Faith says:

      Definitely agree with you

    • JD says:

Totally agree! Would much prefer to see it on ABC or ABCFamily. Not so sure I wanna watch it now knowing that it will be on Disney.

    • I think it being on Disney Channel isn’t a big deal, I mean they used to air reruns of show on Disney Channel years ago and it didn’t change the show but I’m worried the show will end up being corny like the new shows they have on now. At least the 90’s & early 00’s Disney shows were good but the new ones are horrible.

      • Aurelie says:

Thats retartged that you want them to go overboard and talk about sex and drinking. I think its ok if they mention it, but not go overboard. If you really wanna see porn and people getting frunk on another tv show then watch Friends with Benefits or something. This show( including BO y Meets World) is suppose to be a show for all ages , BOy meets World was made to be a clean show. but especially for kids that means it has to be CLEAN idiot! Disney channel is for kids not for porn addicts. So what if it doesn’t tackle some of the more issues, doesn’t mean it will be any less good. /if you don’t like it then don’t watch it. Michael Jacobs wont be offended honey! Stop always thinking about the negatives and focus on the positives like the fact that Ben Savage and Danielle Fishel are coming back whoot whoot!!! I’m just freakign tired about people saying their mad about them not tackling any of the major issues, yet they really just wanna sit there and see the sex. May God have mercy on our nation.

      • Gin says:

I totally agree!

    • brain says:

I found a list of the complete known cast at uptodatenew.blogspot.co m check it out

    • Jake says:

I’m 22 and I don’t care if it was on Oxygen, I’d watch it! With Michael Jacobs at the helm all Disney is doing is distributing it.

    • Camille says:

I FULLY agree with your post. Good luck getting ABC to fight for it. :) it would be awesome on abc!

    • Carrie says:

      also agree!!

    • Crissi Long says:

That’s so true! Kids aren’t going to realize the importance of how epic this show is/was as Boy Meets World. It literally shaped my childhood. I’m going to be watching regardless, but I feel like putting it on Disney is a very bad move.

    • Casey says:

I see this being just another another generic Disney channel series. Loosely connected to a show I enjoyed growing up, but full of teen stereotypes and awful writing. Also I may be 21, but this is going to make me feel old.

    • kevin says:

i wonder if ryder strong will come back as shawn

    • Jamie says:

      I agree completely!

    • Ashley says:

I am so excited about this! I watch the reruns almost every morning getting ready for work!!

    • Amy says:

      I 100% agree!!!

    • arianna says:

i think its genius. it pulls in new fans and old through their kids. i watch disney even though i am 15 and grew up watching reruns with my mom, i know that she will be sitting right beside me watching this, as will many parents

    • Gin says:

I am 14 and have older siblings who watched the show when it was first on. I watch the reruns and I have always lived it! Most people even my age do not even know what it is. So, if they put the sequel on Disney it will not feel like a sequel. It should be on ABCFamily or something that people who watched the show will know about.

    • Actually, I’m 26 and still watch Disney Channel from time to time (usually when there’s no crime drama marathon on USA, hehe). If I remember correctly, I was introduced to BMW on either ABC Family or Disney Channel. And I know a few other people my age who watch the network. So the age shouldn’t be that much of a problem. However, I agree that it should be on either ABC Family or ABC. I remember reading something years ago saying that there are certain episodes of BMW that Disney Channel refuses to air because of the content and topics (such as the prom episode that talks about pre-marital sex). I know there are some topics they don’t mind touching (like eating disorders – see: Lizzie McGuire when Miranda stopped eating, even if for a few days) but for the most part, I’m sure the series would be better fit on two of Disney’s other networks.

    • jay says:

I agree 100%. If they launch it on ABC Family they can get the old fans as well as the new younger generation.

    • Laura says:

I agree, it would do much better on ABC or Abc Family.

    • PD says:

I agree with you 100% ABC Family would be the best home for this kind of show! I remember watching this when I was younger now my niece and her cousins watch the reruns too. We need more good t.v. shows like ‘Boy meets World’ more whole some for the younger kids out there. I hope that Disney does this show justice, I hope its not a bunch of laugh tracks and bad jokes. Boy meets World was a great show with actuall problems that kids could relate to and it was cute and fun without being cornie. We need shows out their that people can related to, but also show young viewers different ways to deal with issues in a positive light.

    • Mrs.Woods33 says:

OMG! That is great news and I just told my husband! We think this would be a good show to watch as a family!

    • Christina says:

I would watch it on any channel that it was on me and my kids love Boy Meets World and i’m sure we will love Girl Meets World just as much we cant wait we are so ecited

  2. Boots says:

Now get William Daniels to reprise Feeney!

    • Dylan says:

seeing as he’s 85 i don’t think William is gonna wanna come back

      • Sandris says:

He was just on Grey’s Anatomy a few episodes ago. His age has not stopped him from continuing his acting career. I hope he does reprise his role, even if it is just in a recurring character and not a regular. I would also love to see Eric Mathews!!!

        • Kim says:

I agree. He was on Greys Anatomy. His character passed away in the episode a couple weeks ago. So It’s possible he could be going into Girl Meets World. I would love it if he did. And yes! Eric coming back would be awesome! Uncle Eric! and Shawn! Both of them coming back to act as Uncles(yes i include shawn as an uncle since he was Corey’s best friend forever he might as well be Riley’s Uncle) to Riley and give her off the wall advice.

          • Elle says:

He’s such a good actor! I was watching his scenes with Christina on Grey’s and although their friendship was only brief when he passed away… oh my god. I had a tear filled breakdown! I’d love to see him be Cory and Topanga’s neighbour :)

    • megan says:

Yes bring feeny back! As their daughters teacher would that be crazy or what

  3. Master_K says:

    Ok best news ever!!!

    • Lizzie says:

Double yay!!!! And yes I do believe it would do so much better on ABC Family since all us 90S kids will be watching

      • dude says:

If all us 90s kids will be watching regardless, what does it matter what network it’s on.

        • Meg says:

Thank you! My sister and I were just talking about this. By having it on DIsney Channel, you get the Boy Meets World fans who are going to watch it anyways as well as expand the viewers to those who watch Disney Channel. Disney has such a big fanbase that will watch whatever is on DIsney regardless of the show!

          • Brianna says:

But if it was on another channel like ABC or ABC Family the show could focus on slightly different topics as it progressed, unlike with Disney where certain topics could not be discussed because of Disney being a kids channel.

      • Aurelie says:

Just watch it on Disney. And I’m sorry, but there is not sex and drugs so if your feeling horney go read 50 shades of grey. Get over your self for Gods sake or don’t watch it at all:p

  4. VCI says:

This is promising, now just move it from Disney Channel to at least ABC Family so I’ll be even more likely to watch.

  5. Thats it, I’m doing the Feeny call, because I too love you all.

  6. sabrina says:

Corey would be the new Feeney.

  7. Chris says:

I am shocked that the latest news is that it isn’t being poached by another network in the family. It would be way better on the others.

  8. Nina says:

YESSS! Best news eveeeer! Now PLS lets move it to ABC or ABC Fam. Either or, just not Disney.

  9. Best news!! Happy Thanksgiving, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year rolled into one!!

  10. Dee says:

I’m with everyone else…Disney is the wrong channel for this to be on!! ABC Family is more fitting

  11. AFan says:

That is not a good picture of Danielle Fishel. She currently hosts Last Night on TV and looks like she hasn’t aged at all since the end of the original show. Still as beautiful as ever.

This is good news for the show, without the two of them signed on there was no point to even make the pilot.

  12. Brad Smith says:

I feel like Disney Channel will make it TOO CHEESY. I agree where it should be on another channel. Love that this is happening though

    • kavyn says:

Actually I think it’s better the show is on Disney. Putting it on ABC Family means more drama than comedy, and airing it on Disney means they get to attract both old and new fans of the show.

ABC Family is more convenient for the old BMW fans, but Disney is probably the better decision for the show.

  13. Damian says:

The thing is and I know this is hard to hear…but this show is not for you. It’s going to be a kids show for kids to watch. Any adults tuning in is just going to be an happy side effect. The focus is going to be on the kids. Disney has gotten better about doing stories for the parents but they will always be the B story.

    • Susie says:

If this show was “just for kids” … They wouldn’t have felt the need to bring back old characters. By doing that, they’ve gotten the attention of ORIGINAL FANS who will be their concrete/for sure viewers.

    • Melissa says:

Thank you Damien, I thought I was the going crazy!! Its a kid show, they said in the article that it from the point of view of the tween daughter. Parents who were fans of the show can watch it with their kids. Disney has had great success with similiar shows, Good Luck Charlie for instance. This sounds like it would do quite well on disney channel as also…for its target audience of course…lol.

  14. angelstorm says:

Aww bless them – they look EXACTLY the same !!

  15. All of you forget that Michael Jacobs, who created these characters in the first place and helped make it what it is, is in charge. It’ll be fine.

  16. Kav says:

Yaa! This is great news! I can’t wait to watch my favorite childhood show return in this format.. and Jordana Beatty, best known for her role as Judy in ‘Judy Moody: the Not Bummer Summer’ .. would play the perfect Riley. She has Danielle’s cheecks ;) could totally pass off as her daughter. ;) .. plus she’s a great actress. <3

  17. All of you forget that Michael Jacobs, who created these characters in the first place and helped make the show what it was, is in charge. It’ll be fine.

  18. Andrea Sabel says:

Umm, best news I’ve heard all day! And yes, please move to ABC Family. And I hope others will make some appearances… like maybe Uncle Eric? He has a niche now!!

  19. The production company could still move it from Disney to another one of their channels, like CBS did with Ringer when they moved it to CW.

  20. Mike says:

Hmmm, this show needs some feeney

  21. Rebecca B says:

I just hope that Uncle Eric and Uncle Shawn make it on. I’m not so sure about this if they don’t at least make an appearance. They were too close to Cory and Topanga.

  22. Megan says:

13? Why not just have her be 11, like Corey was at the start of BMW? For her to be 13 that means they had a baby before they even graduated college? Why am I questioning this?

    • Megan says:

The casting call for the daughter was for all ethnicities, so she may not be written as their biological daughter. If she’s adopted that could account for that issue with her age.

    • Stacey says:

It’s believable. Topanga had a pregnancy scare during the final year of the show, after they married. Or I should say, people assumed Topanga was pregnant because she had gained some weight. Both Topanga and Cory expressed some sadness that it wasn’t to be at that time. And knowing their habit of commtting before they were ready. I totally believe they had a child soon after arriving in New York. And according to spoilers; they have a 14 year old son, who is one year and one grade older than the main girl, Riley. I can believe. The show won’t hit the air until the summer, fall or winter of 2013/2014. The show ended in 2000. So it’s right against the line of believable!

    • cgreene says:

      So what it’s television.

  23. Elyse says:

    can’t. freaking. wait.

  24. meg says:

It’s going to be horrible if it’s on Disney Channel. Thr humor is going to be so cheesy. Whenever they aired Boy Meets World episodes on Disney Channel in the past they cut some inappropriate parts out :/

    • Adrienne says:

That’s exactly how I feel. I remember when they did that on Disney. So it makes you wonder, how are they going to ever let Riley grow? They’ll keep it kiddie oriented and that sucks.

    • Not only that but I read years and years ago that there are some episodes that Disney Channel refuses/refused to air, like the one when Shawn (or maybe both Cory and Shawn – can’t remember) got drunk. So the show would be very limited on Disney Channel. There’s so much stuff that teens go through nowadays that Disney Channel would be too afraid to show.

  25. David says:

I think this is great news for the show. I think it could work on Disney or ABC. ABC Family shows the original Boy Meets World every morning, so if they do move it to ABC Family tyey could put that show in early prime time and have a Boy Meets World block. I will be watching it no matter where it goes on Disney or ABC or ABC Family. I love Boy Meets World and i am very excited about this new continuation of the show.

  26. A.D. says:

Eric and Shawn need to be there!

  27. Babybop says:

I don’t care if it’s on Disney, if they have the old cast guest starring, I’ll watch with a smile!

  28. Tara says:

Umm, Disney owns ABC, so either channel, it would be Disney.

    • ian says:

Yeah I said that on another persons comment. People are freaking out over the Disney factor.Disney now owns the Muppets and they didn’t ruin them so I don’t see why people would assume that all the humor and stuff will be taken away.

      • Brianna says:

People are saying Disney would ruin it because topics that could be shown on channels like ABC would not be allowed on Disney.

  29. I am so excited about this! Now all they need is Feeny…
I’m not really that worried that the show is going to be on Disney, only because Michael Jacobs, the original creator, is in charge, so the Disney people can’t ruin it too bad. I am a little dissapointed though that on Disney Channel, the show won’t be able to tackle some of the more real issues (drinking, sex) that Boy Meets World originally discussed.

  30. Adam Bramble says:

Great. Disney better not ruin this!

  31. Kelli says:

Disney, ABC Family, and ABC are ALL owned and operated by the same people. I’m excited for it regardless of where it airs

  32. Shaun says:

Topanga back in da house!!Where’s Minkus when you need him?lol

  33. Sharea says:

I wish it would be on abc or family. I wish they would bring back TGIF remember the good old shows we used to all look forward to?

  34. Natalie says:

I would love if Rider Strong came back too. I need to know how Shawny is doing these days. He should have a son that is Corey and Topanga’s love interest?

  35. KB says:

It doesn’t matter what channel it’s on. We won’t be the target audience anymore. Plus, Rider Strong will never reprise his role as Shawn, so what’s the point in having a show with Cory and not Shawn? I’m the biggest BMW supporter ever, but this show is not going to satisfy our generation who grew up with the original.

  36. Kirstie says:

I was kinda uninterested in this when it was first announced, but now I’m suprised at how excited this news has made me. Never thought I would be excited for a Disney Channel pilot.

  37. mia says:

YESSSSSSSSS! Now to get it on ABC Family – Disney owns them, so it should be pretty easy to do.
Please please please do it right

  38. KB says:

Also, would anyone *really* be surprised if the kid’s age didn’t match the timeline in BMW? Again, it’s my favorite show of all time….but Michael Jacobs had more inconsistancies than any show/movie I’ve ever seen.

    • Emily says:

That’s very true, I’m pretty sure Shawn and Topanga both have sisters only mentioned once, Shawn called his to see what “Stacy straightened her hair with” when Corey was trying to straighten his “brillow head”, and Topanga’s sister came to pick her up from the Mathews’ house in the episode where she wanted to be “Mrs. Eric Mathews”.

  39. Amanda says:

Can’t understand why people are splitting hairs over Disney vs ABC or ABC Family for this I air. News alert: those are all owned by the same company.

  40. Chris says:

My 16 year old is so excited. She is addicted and records every episode.

  41. Stacy says:

Cory and Topanga had a daughter in the last episode of Boy Meets World that was set in the future and her name was BEVERLY GLEN not Riley. I really hope this riley is a lil sister or something and that they didn’t just change her name.

    • Dexx says:

The final episode of BMW was of them going to New York, the only child was the baby brother. There was an episode in the final season where they did a look into the future at the relationships between the cast due to a major prank war gone wrong. That’s where we got Plays-With-Squirels, famous quote; ‘Lose one friend, lose all friends, lose yourself.’

    • Angela says:

That wasn’t the last episode, and it was just a dream of Eric’s, so yeah not something that really happened

  42. Madi says:

Disney better not slaughter this. It would be better for them not to make it at all than to let them ruin childhood memories of many…

  43. Gabriel says:

I can’t wait for this to come on!! And I totally agree that is should be on ABC not disney, for all those people who dont have disney or cable!

  44. shana says:

It’s going to be a HUGE disappointment if Shawn and Eric don’t have reoccurring roles in the show.

  45. Rochely says:

Like most comments I’ve seen, yes, this show should be on ABCF or ABC. The generation that watches Disney Channel right now doesn’t even know the Boy Meets World show. Most of the ones interested in the sequel are 20+ years old.

  46. Emily says:

I’m really excited for this, since I was so young when it ended, practically none of my friends have even heard of BMW, I grew up with reruns that I watched with my mom and it is my all time favorite show. What made it so great was that it wasn’t cheesy (most of the time) and was relateable, not like the shows on any kid’s network now that are basically different variations of themselves. My hope for this show is that it will have the same feel as BMW and still deal with real issues and challenges in a relatable and “non-cheesy” manner. I also have to wonder about the new aunt Megan and uncle Josh aswell as Angela and Topanga’s sister that was in the episode that Topanga had a crush on Eric in. I hope that this show will be on ABC Family because I think it will give it less of an oportunity to have cheesy aspects like the shows currently on Disney Channel and it could also help to make it more of a family show like BMW was and not just for kids. Anyway, I’ll watch this show on whatever network and I think it’s really cool that a new generation is going to have the chance to experience an all-around good show.

  47. Rob says:

Erm…everyone knows Disney own ABC, right? Good. Just checking.

The writing and production quality will be just as good as if it was on ABC. It was hardly an adult oriented show. It was always aimed at kids and teenagers. In the UK, and most other countries, Boy Meets World only aired on the Disney Channel.

    • Have you watched Disney Channel or ABC Family lately? They are very different. Pretty Little Liars has lesbians, sex, and murder. Hannah Montana was about a pop star who just wanted to be a regular 12 year old girl. When they used to play BMW reruns on the Disney Channel, they only aired the censored versions after 10pm. And the drinking and prom episodes were banned completely. Trust me, it’s not the same

      • Andrea says:

I can’t agree with you more!! Yes, Disney may own ABC and there is no doubt in my mind there are young adults/kids out there that are mature enough to understand the show and love it as true BMW fans do, but it is highly likely that it won’t be the same. The very first BMW episode aired the year I was born and still watch every single episode ’til this day. I mention (or give an estimate) of my age so all of you know I also grew up with what some may consider not good shows or what is usually seen as the typical Disney (lame) shows like Hannah Montana. I’m sure Disney may argue their shows do have a message but don’t come close to the real and deep messages BMW still brings out to all those who watch it. It emphasizes the importance of real love (care, respect, friendship, etc.); not only an “ooooo, that boy is cute!”. What true friendship is and especially how everyone is different. Not only different in the usual teenager way where low self-esteem is involved, but the role family plays in an individuals’ life and many other things. Anyway, I can go on and on and I’m sure many of you get that I am a true BMW fan, but my point is that many (including myself) are worried Disney won’t portray all those values and deep life lessons BMW tried to send out to their audience. I understand this is supposed to be a new show, but it still has to do with BMW and I don’t think Disney will serve it justice based on their current style unless given deep thought and planning to do otherwise.

  48. danielle says:

If you’re looking for any cast members I’d love to be apart of it ! I love boy meets world ! Greatest show shown on MTV !

  49. A says:

Now they have to get Rider Strong to appear… They can’t have Cory without Shawn!
