What to Watch Tuesday: Lauren Graham Goes On, Covert Finale, Fringe from the First and More

On TV this Tuesday: Covert Affairs spies its Season 3 finale, Chaz Bono Chers some good advice with the Degrassi kids, a former Gilmore Girl helps Matthew Perry Go On and Fringe starts over from the beginning. As a supplement to TVLine’s original features (linked within), here are 11 programs to keep on your radar.

PREVIEW | Ben and Kate Video: Nat Faxon Stuffs Sexual Innuendo Into Thanksgiving

8 pm Fringe (Science Channel) | Mitigate your grief about Olivia & Co.’s approaching end by rewinding to the beginning! Starting tonight, Science Channel will air three hours of the mind-bending sci-fi drama every Tuesday. (A marathon of the full Season 1 will take place this Friday and Saturday; check back later this week for TVLine’s full guide to Thanksgiving marathons and specials.)

8 pm Hart of Dixie (The CW) | Rose has a crush on a high school football player who has a crush on Zoe — and the town discourages the doc from setting him straight until after the big game. Olympic Gold Medal gymnast McKayla Maroney is not impressed guest-stars as one of Rose’s friends.

PREVIEW | NCIS: Los Angeles Hot Shots: Deeks and Kensi Are All Wet

PREVIEW | New Girl Video: Nick Falls Hard – for Jess’ Mom?!

9 pm Degrassi (Teen Nick) | In the two-part season finale (the conclusion of which airs at 9:30 pm), things get messy between Adam and a new friend. LGBT rights advocate Chaz Bono, guest-starring as himself, gives the transgender teen some good advice.

9 pm Happy Endings (ABC) | At Thanksgiving, Max gets his hands on a copy of the lost season of The Real World in which he and Brad appeared, so everyone sits down to revisit their first meeting from a decade ago. (I know it might impede your holiday-meal preparations, Alex and Dave, but it’s probably a good idea to hide the knives.)

9 pm Go On (NBC) | When Parenthood‘s Lauren Graham guest-stars as an old college friend of Ryan’s, the sports-talk host finds himself competing with Steven for her affections.

9:30 pm The Mindy Project (Fox) | Mindy decides to cook Thanksgiving dinner at Gwen’s house, where her former blind date Dennis (The Office‘s Ed Helms) shows up with a new lady on his arm. Again: Hide the knives, people.

9:30 pm The New Normal (NBC) | Bryan, David, Goldie, Shania and Rocky hold a Thanksgiving dinner and invite people with whom they need to make amends – like Shania’s dad Clay and David’s pop (Spin City‘s Barry Bostwick).

PREVIEW | Private Practice‘s Addison Fears the Worst When Henry’s Birth Mother Resurfaces

10 pm Covert Affairs (USA Network) | Season finale: When a fellow spy is taken hostage, Annie travels to Amsterdam to eliminate Khalid once and for all.

10 pm Sons of Anarchy (FX) | Jax scrambles to put his affairs in order, while Nero handles business with his old crew.

10 pm Parenthood (NBC) | Adam and Kristina (played by TVLine Performer of the Week Monica Potter) plan a sleepover for Max; Sarah and Mark encounter a parenting dilemma that boils over into a fight.

11 pm Flashpoint (ION) | Team One confronts a man desperate to keep the promise he made to his deaf nephew by protecting the only place the boy has ever felt safe.

I already seen Happy Endings, don’t know what’s up with this season so far… but I think they lost their spark. I used to laugh like a maniac every episode… This season, not so much.

    • D'Arcy says:

Dave’s storyline was weak, and was based around one joke getting extended through the entire episode. The Real World stuff was alright, but the jokes were still hilarious. Last week’s episode was much, much stronger.

      • I personally think Dave and Alex are the weak links to the show. Although Alex is starting to grow on me. This week’s episode was OK. Liked the Real World part but Dave’s stuff really brought it down.

        Go On
        Sons of Anarchy

NCIS is showing the second half of a double header. Did you consider it so weak that the show wasn’t worthy of being listed? Personally, there’s no way I’m missing NCIS!!! Also, I watched the first 3 episodes of Emily Owens MD on demand and found them very enjoyable. I hope more people give this show a chance.

  28. Nero theTVFiddler says:

Good lists by the other posters – agree with them – a lot of really good show on Tuesday nights. That’s a good thing – good for TV (broadcast and cable), and good for the viewers like us.

However, if I had to pick just one ‘must see’, I’d pick “Go On”. Something about that show – it is just a surprise to me how good, different (in a very good way) that show is. It can be silly at times, but most of the time, spot on. Matthew Perry looks like he has found a winner – good for him – works well off his co-stars – Benanti/Cho/Miller in particular. Watch him in his scenes w/Christine Woods [‘Do You Believe in Ghosts?’ & ‘Any Given Birthday’] – the coolest, most honest man/woman relationship on TV right now.

  29. AngelMoon Girl says:

Ahh I wish I had Science Channel… really want to watch Fringe!
Gonna settle for NCIS though ;) Here’s hoping there’s progress on the Tony/Ziva front.
