Exclusive: 24's Annie Wersching Heads to Dallas

Annie Wersching, who is perhaps best known as 24‘s plucky FBI agent Renee Walker, next is setting her sights on TNT’s Dallas.

TVLine has learned exclusively that the actress will recur during Season 2 of the hit cable drama as an ambitious and sexy transportation commissioner. Sources tell me that Wersching’s character, though married, just might mix it up with John Ross and/or Christopher. Whee doggie!

Other announced additions for Dallas‘ sophomore run, which premieres Jan. 28, 2013, include Walking Dead alum Emma Bell (as a series regular) and Emmy winner Judith Light, while Ted Shackelford and Joan Van Ark will reprise their Knots Landing roles of Gary and Valene Ewing.

Since wrapping her run on 24, Wersching has guested on such series as NCIS, Rizzoli & Isles and Hawaii Five-0. She also can be seen in the first two episodes of Body of Proof Season 3 (premiering at midseason on ABC).

  • Ha! This is the second 24 alum on Dallas (Carlos Bernard being the first in season one). Can we petition for James Morrisson (Bill Buchanan) or Mary Lynn Rajskub (Chloe) next? I’d ask for Kiefer Sutherland as he would be a natural as a rival ranch owner but I don’t see that happening.

    • If new cast members are being added old or new they should select ones that would carry the series over the top. For instance casting Annie Wersching to bring more trouble between John Ross and Chris with a possible affair storyline is crazy. She is too mature looking for either of them. If a winter/spring storyline is in the making the writers need to select better looking sexy mature person for the part. Annie looks more like she could play Chris’s long lost birth Mom which could be nice looking and sexy for her age and maybe come in trying to get money from her son. As far as a evil diva to cause trouble for the pair and would be more understandable would be Nadia Bijorin the actress that plays Chloe on Days of Our Lives her looks which are equal to Liz Taylor (which one day she should play her) and ability to be a dark sexy diva would be a good story line. And instead of bringing Val and Gary back which would add nothing to the show they should bring Abby back or add Joan Collins to the show to take up the void for the evil JR role. As a matter of fact Nadia Bijorin could play Joan Collins spoiled niece or grand daughter! Now that would be an evil pair to give them a run for their money.

  • Let’s not forget that the cinematographer of “Dallas” is Rodney Charters, who held the same job on “24″. So that makes five.

    • That explains the excellent cinematography on Dallas. Far above the normal cable drama. Even though I found S1 a little unfocused, I believe S2 will be great. I’m sure they didn’t know what to expect.
