Saturday Night Live alum Molly Shannon has nabbed a top-secret guest role in NBC’s upcoming drama Hannibal, TVLine has learned exclusively.

The former Not Ready for Primetime Player has been very busy as of late. She’s recently had stints on Web Therapy, Up All Night and The Middle, and she landed a recurring role on the upcoming second season of HBO’s Enlightened. She also currently can be heard voicing Wanda the werewolf in the big screen animated flick Hotel Transylvania.

Like Hannibal‘s Caroline Dhavernas, Chelan Simons and Ellen Greene, Shannon has previously worked with showrunner Bryan Fuller: She played candy emporium owner Dilly Balsam in Fuller’s Pushing Daisies.

  • The second most annoying person on the face of the Earth, tied with Will Farrell. Pass. Hannibal shouldn’t cast comedians. What are they thinking, cheap talent?

  • This show is becoming so strange. I’m going to watch it because I seriously am interested with Fuller’s take, but first there’s a Wonderfall character coming to the series, now Shannon? This is just getting weird.

Btw, whatever happened to the minsters reboot? Last I heard of it, it was shifting its production schedule, and then it just kinda died.

  • I’m excited by this news! I love Molly Shannon and wish she had her own show! Kath & Kim was actually funny; people just did not give it a chance.
