The Newsroom actress has landed a multi-ep arc in Season 2 of the Fox comedy, Deadline reports. She’ll play Nick’s sexy new love interest, who is described as earthy and charming. And, Schmidt’s inevitable antics aside, she has no trouble holding her own within the group.

Munn joins the ever-expanding list of guest stars — including Carla Gugino, Rob Riggle, David Walton, Rob Reiner, Jamie Lee Curtis and more — in New Girl‘s sophomore run.

• Lifetime has announced the cast of Project Runway All Stars Season 2. The 13 former contestants taking part are: Wendy Pepper (Season 1); Andrae Gonzalo (Season 2); Uli Herzner and Kayne Gillaspie (Season 3); Suede Baum (Season 5); Althea Harper (Season 6); Emilio Sosa (Season 7); Ivy Higa, Cassanova and Peach Carr (Season 8); and Laura Kathleen, Joshua McKinley and Anthony Ryan Auld (Season 9). Carolyn Murphy will replace Angela Lindvall as host. All Stars premieres Oct. 25 at 9 pm.

• Emmy-winning actor John Larroquette has booked a heavily recurring role in NBC’s midseason series Infamous, Deadline reports. Described as an opulent soap, Infamous centers on a female detective (played by Meaghan Good) who returns undercover to the wealthy family she grew up in – as the maid’s daughter – to solve the murder of the heiress with whom she was once very close. Larroquette joins as a powerful senator and the former friend of Victor Garber’s patriarch.

• MTV2 has renewed its reality series Guy Code for a third season, to bow in January 2013.
