No details are available about who Douglas will play on one of her self-proclaimed favorite shows. She will appear in Episode 7, which is slated to air Nov. 29. (On a related note, did you see this Ask Ausiello tease for the hour?!)

Earlier today, star Nina Dobrev expressed her excitement over Twitter: “First thought at 530am when I woke up this morning : “What to wear when meeting an Olympian Gold Medallist [sic]?”

The cast’s love for the gymnast, and vice versa, is no secret. After cheering on Douglas during the Olympic games, several actors from the show made a video congratulating her and the U.S. team on cinching a gold medal.

The Vampire Diaries returns Thursday, Oct. 11 at 8/7c.

  • Interesting. I’m wondering if she will actually be someone or a random who gets killed.

  • Gaby is sweet and I’m happy for her, but why? I hate stunt casting like this.

    • I kind of have to agree, on both counts

    • Agreed. Hopefully she’s just some cameo instead of someone who’s an actual character. I don’t need to see the girl “attempt” acting.

  • I wish it was McKayla just so they could do some sort of scene with Stephan and Elena together and then show her and Damon brooding in the background while she does the Not Impressed Face.

    • Is it bad that this is actually the very thing that came to my mind when I read the article? Vampire Diaries is getting predictable!

  • THIS IS AWESOME. Guys, it’s not like she scored some major role (at least I’m guessing), this is her favorite show and she’s getting to be on it! I’m a huge fan of both her and TVD, so I’m excited!

  • It’s a little early in the show’s run for stunt casting, isn’t it?

  • Oh for goodness sake, they’ve never done anything like this before and it’s Season 4 already! She has a small, small part and that’s it. It’s hardly going to ruin the show.
