The former Daily Show correspondent, who currently stars in the procedural-spoofing Adult Swim comedy NTSF:SD:SUV:: and also memorably played a smarmy P.E. teacher in the box office smash 21 Jump Street (co-starring New Girl‘s Jake Johnson), will turn up in a Thanksgiving themed episode airing in November.

Riggle was recently tapped to join Fox’s NFL Sunday pre-game coverage.

New Girl kicks off its second season on Tuesday, Sept. 25.

  • The best acting Rob Riggle has done is convincing the casting directors that he has talent. I’m pretty sure I have never laughed at anything he has done. He was easily the worst part about 21 Jump Street. Being big and loud does not automatically make you funny.

  • Love him, he’ll be a funny addition to New Girl. Also, isn’t “Schmidt” Schmidt’s last name? So it would make sense for his cousing to have the same name…

    • Yup, just like most people with the last name Sullivan are called Sully, many people with the last name Schmidt are called Schmidt or Shmidtty. Makes sense.
