Stults — who has signed a talent deal with 20th Century Fox TV, which produces the show — will play a single dad who first appears in the Halloween episode airing Tuesday, Oct. 30. He’ll make a love connection with Dakota Johnson’s Kate, who is raising an adorable daughter (played by Maggie Elizabeth Jones) with the help of her directionless brother (Nat Faxon).

The actor is also developing a multi-camera comedy, with writing/producing partner Dave Whatley, in which Stults would star.

Stults’ previous TV credits include 7th Heaven, October Road and Happy Town.

Ben and Kate premieres Sept. 25 at 8:30/7:30c on Fox.

  2. Linda Frazzo says:

So happy Geoff will be on TV again! I have loved him in 7th Heaven, The Finder, October Road and Happy Town. I was so disappointed that The Finder was cancelled!

  3. iMember says:

This is good news. Just wanted to say that I absolutely LOVED the pilot episode for Ben & Kate and I heard that with the new writers they got from Community, things are only looking up. I love that the show’s premise comes from the creator’s actual life because that means there will be a plentyful of storylines to be used.

  4. Sheldon W. says:

Ben and Kate had an intriguing – and frequently very funny – pilot, and Geoff Stults can provide some added comic muscle as well any level of daram and melodrama, as well.

This just feels like a really good fit.

  5. Renee says:

    Love Geoff Stults.
