Emmys 2012: What Should Win Outstanding Reality Program? Take Our Poll!

It’s an eclectic mix of programs — featuring one previous winner, three prior nominees, and a pair of first-time contenders — in the 2012 Emmy race for Outstanding Reality Program. (The category is not to be confused with Outstanding Reality Show Competition; check out our “who should win?” poll in that category here.)

Jamie Oliver’s Food Revolution, which took home the statuette in 2010, is back in the race after a one-year hiatus, while perennial nominee Antiques Roadshow (nominated for the eighth straight time) will try to reverse its also-ran fortunes. MythBusters (celebrating its fourth nod) and Undercover Boss (now on its third) round out the veterans in the race.

The absence of 2011 winner Deadliest Catch and six-time nominee Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D-List leaves some room for new blood in the division, and taking advantage are ABC’s Shark Tank and NBC’s Who Do You Think You Are?

What would you do if you had the power to honor one of these fine shows when the Emmys are handed out in September? Choose your favorite in our poll below — TVLine voting closes Sept. 14, so act now! — then hit the comments to justify your pick!

Every day for the next month, we’ll launch another “Who Should Win” Emmy poll, so come back to TVLine.com every day to weigh in on who’s most worthy of TV’s biggest honor, and to stay up to speed on all our races, follow me on Twitter @MichaelSlezakTV!

Comments are monitored, so don’t go off topic, don’t frakkin’ curse and don’t bore us with how much your coworker’s sister-in-law makes per hour. Talk smart about TV!

    The Deadliest Catch. Oh, wait…

  2. Ava says:

How did Deadliest Catch get left out?

Good question. It’s such a fascinating show to watch. I became obsessed with it a few years ago and used to stay up really late to catch the old episodes I’d missed the first time around. Seems like the perfect show for a category like this.

  3. How does Undercover Boss get nominated. I mean, I’ll watch it once in a while, but never once have I thought. “Here’s a show that deserves Emmy consideration.”

i am such a geek for Who Do You Think You Are

The real answer is Storage Wars of course.

I love Jamie Oliver’s Food Revolution. It so deserves this, even though I thought it was canceled last year. (Huh?)
It’d be okay if Shark Tank or Undercover Boss won too.

    Undercover Boss? Really?
