Emmys 2012: Who Should Win Outstanding Reality Show Host? Take Our Poll!

The Emmy tribe has spoken, and it definitely wants a change in the race for Outstanding Reality Show Host.

Indeed, while Jeff Probst has taken home the statuette in the category all four years it’s been in existence, the Survivor frontman failed to secure so much as a nomination in 2012.

Probst’s snub paves the way for Dancing With the Stars
’ cheeky Tom Bergeron and American Idol
’s ubiquitous Ryan Seacrest, both of whom are nominated for the fifth consecutive year, as well as The Amazing Race‘s Phil Keoghan, up for the fourth straight time.

The Reality Show Host race is hardly a men’s club, though. So You Think You Can Dance
’s sensational Cat Deeley takes her second swing at Emmy glory this year, while Betty White, who has five Emmy wins in other categories, enters this particular race for the first time for Betty White’s Off Their Rockers.

What would you do if you had the power to send one of these fine emcees to the podium when the Emmys are handed out in September? Take our poll below to vote for your favorite — TVLine voting closes Sept. 14, so act now! — then hit the comments to justify your pick!

Every day for the next month, we’ll launch another “Who Should Win” Emmy poll, so come back to TVLine.com every day to weigh in on who’s most worthy of TV’s biggest honor, and to stay up to speed on all our races, follow me on Twitter @MichaelSlezakTV!

Comments are monitored, so don’t go off topic, don’t frakkin’ curse and don’t bore us with how much your coworker’s sister-in-law makes per hour. Talk smart about TV!

Why, the lovely and talented Cat Deeley of course! An amazing host and she looks great while doing it. You get the impression that she loves what she does and cares for the dancers on the show. She’s the anti-Seacrest.

  2. Nobody is in Phil Keoghan’s league.

  3. Jared says:

    Cat Deeley hands down!

  4. Maggie says:

    cat deeley, no question!!!

  5. Brock says:

Love my Betty, but it’s a crime Cat hasn’t had this award every year for seven years now!

  6. elr says:

No one deserves this more than Cat Deeley. She is the pinnacle of Reality Show host.

  7. Eric says:

Still shocked Jeff Probst wasn’t nominated???

  8. Martin says:

Saw the results, over 50% for Cat Deeley at the time i post this. The public have spoken.

  9. nick1372 says:

I love Betty, and she did the best she could with the horrible lines she was given, but the Berge needs to win.

  10. Simon says:

Bergeron does the impossible, that is he is surrounded by cheese and fluff and still comes off witty and charming. He so deserves it!!!!!!!

  11. Jon says:

Jeff Probst. Oh wait. Cat Deely then. I wouldn’t mind if Ryan won but he’s super rich. He doesn’t need an Emmy. I think Tyra Banks should have been nominated too.

  12. Juan says:

Cat deeply for sure, she makes the already great SYTYCD incredible, she deserves to win

  13. Mikey says:

Cat Deeley is incredible as the host of “The Choice”! Oh . . . whoops . . .

Ha, in all seriousness, though, I’m not a regular viewer of SYTYCD, but from what I’ve seen, she is amazingly personable and relatable.

  14. Crystal says:

Cat Deeley all the way! She’s so compassionate towards the contestants. She seems like she’d be a fun person to hang out with.

  15. LAR says:

This is such a tough choice! Tom, Cat, and Phil are all amazing!

  16. D. says:

    RuPaul. That is all.

  17. M.J.C. says:

I have to assume that Jeff Probst simply took his name out of the running this year since he’s already won every single year since the inception of the award! He’s my favorite because he’s not afraid to call people out on their crap…all that aside, I’d love to see Cat or Phil take it home!
