Parks and Rec Scoop: Lucy Lawless Books Multi-Episode Arc as Love Interest For [Spoiler]

Lucy Lawless Parks and RecreationIs Ron Swanson man enough for Xena?

Former Spartacus vixen Lucy Lawless has booked a multi-episode arc on Parks and Recreation as a love interest for Nick Offerman’s hyper-masculine alter ego, TVLine has confirmed.

Lawless, who is coming off of a three-year run on Spartacus, will play a single mom in Pawnee named Diane who has a small problem in her neighborhood. Ron and Andy are dispatched to help her, and Andy notices there might be some chemistry between her and Ron.

Parks and Rec‘s fifth season bows on Thursday, Sept. 20 on NBC.

  • Awesome! I read they originally had wanted her for one of the Tammys, but she couldn’t do it because of Spartacus, so it’s great to see that she’s not only going to be on the show, but also still end up being tied to Ron.

  • Such a great day for genre fans. First, John Barrowman is casted on Arrow and now Xena herself is going to be on Parks & Rec. Good day, indeed!

  • The best Xena episodes for me were the ones where they played it for laughs. Lucy Lawless needs to do more comedy. This is great news.

  • Very good news. But the character should be named Tammy only if the powers that be plan to marry him off.
