What to Watch: Old-School Gossip Girl, a Dance Tribute, Chloe Sevigny's Parting Hit and More

On TV this Wednesday: Gossip Girl returns to her roots, The CW dares you to Sit on it, So You Think You Can Dance does right by Mia, something’s amiss with DirecTV’s Hit woman and Necessary Roughness has got (video) game. All told, we hand-selected 10 programs to keep on your radar.

8 pm Gossip Girl (Style) | Watch the UES adventures of Blair, Serena et al from the very beginning, as Style rebroadcasts the entire series — three episodes at a pop — starting with the pilot (Where was Serena?), “The Wild Brunch” (Blair befriends Jenny!) and “Poison Ivy” (Dan and Nate compete for [spoiler]!). If you’re a Gossip virgin, TVLine readers offered 165 suggestions on which episodes/seasons/storylines to avoid like the plague.

8 pm So You Think You Can Dance (Fox) | In a tribute to Mia Michaels, the Top 14 recreate some dances that she choreographed in the past.

8 pm The Middle (ABC) | In this Repeat to Revisit, “The Year of the Hecks,” Frankie incentivizes the fam to stick to their New Year’s resolutions.

8 pm Oh Sit! (The CW) | What if musical chairs and Wipeout had a baby? It’d look like this:

9 pm Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory (ABC Family) | What better way to honor the film’s recently passed director, Mel Stuart, than with your umpteenth viewing of Augustus Gloop taking a digger into the drink? Also: Good day, sir. I said, good day!

9 pm Shark Fight (Discovery) | Shark Week continues with this series of profiles of shark attack victims (West Side Story‘s Tony not included).

9 pm Criminal Minds (CBS) | When Hotch met Beth (awww), in tonight’s other Repeat to Revisit.

10 pm Hit & Miss (DirecTV) | Season finale: Following an upsetting reunion with her family, Mia goes missing — then later pays the price for missing one of her targets.

10 pm Toy Hunter (Travel) | Series premiere: Renowned toy dealer Jordan Hembrough travels the country sizing up people’s collectibles and searching for rare finds. In one of tonight’s back-to-back episodes, he comes face-to-face with a life-size Star Wars showstopper (dare we hope, a Slave Leia RealDoll?!).

10 pm Necessary Roughness (USA Network) | With training camp over, Matt and Coach decide who will make the cut, while Dani treats a professional video game player (for a hyperextended thumb, or acute sleepiness of the buttocks?).

Which of the above is must-see for you? Also, hit Comments to offer your own tune-in suggestions.

    • I hear it’s mostly dependent on whether Chloe Sevigny wants to do another season.
