TVLine Items: Secret Circle Alum Gets Famous, Odette Annable Doubles Down Again and More

Another Secret Circle sorceress has conjured up a new gig.

On the heels of ex-castmate Phoebe Tonkin landing a role on The Vampire Diaries, Shelley Hennig has booked a recurring run on MTV’s upcoming comedy series Zach Stone Is Gonna Be Famous, our sister site Deadline reports.

Hennig guest-starred in the Famous pilot as a cute girl next door type/object of the titular Zach’s affection.

Ready for more of today’s TV dish? Well…

Odette Annable, who this past season juggled House and Breaking In, has landed a recurring role on CBS’ midseason drama Golden Boy, per Deadline.  The actress — who also has a part on Cinemax’s upcoming Banshee series — will play an Assistant District Attorney who prosecutes cases brought in by Theo James’ rising star lawman (aka the Golden Boy).

• Former America’s Next Top Model finalist Keenyah Hill will appear as Winston’s professional basketball player sister on Season 2 of Fox’s New Girl, reports.

• Seth Green will guest-star as a homeless guy who starts a feud with Milo (Danny Masterson) on TBS’s Men at Work. See his hobo beard at work here.

• Amanda Fuller will replace Alexandra Krosney as the eldest daughter of Tim Allen’s character on ABC’s Last Man Standing, per Fuller recurred on Grey’s Anatomy last season as Alex’s intern Morgan.

* Onetime WWE Diva and Dancing star Stacy Keibler will host the Lifetime competition series Supermarket Superstars, in which aspiring food product inventors pitch their concepts to a panel of experts.

• WWE Saturday Morning Slam will debut on Aug. 25 at 10 am on The CW’s kids programming block Vortexx.

  • I’ll watch Zach Stone Is Gonna Be Famous just for Shelley Hennig. I wonder if Britt Robertson or Thomas Dekker will get roles on other shows too.

  • Don’t know about the Last Man Standing changes, will have to wait and see, at least they didn’t recast Mandy, it’s a shame they can’t change the format of the show so it focuses on the family and just the family, the work bit was always the weakest.

  • Why do they even cast Odette Annable? She jinxes the shows she’s in and they get canceled.

    • Don’t blame her for Breaking In or House or Brothers and sisters……..the last 2 were sinking and the comedy wasn’t bad but didn’t take off!!

      • I loved Breaking In, it really clicked for me.

She was a real value to House too. If I recall, she came on after it was announced that it was gonna be the final season.

        Never watched B&S

If anyone deserves the title of show killer, it’d be Summer Glau. How many cancelled shows under her belt?

In all seriousness, it’s a silly title to give anyone. It’s rare that anyone can point to any one thing other than networks unhappy with ratings as being the direct cause of cancellation.

House was a mutual decision all around (I believe based on what I heard).

The central actor leaving the show (ie SMG of Buffy). Unless either it’s Dr Who or the decision is made to replace actor (ie Spartacus-such a sad story)

The central actor being too much of a problem to continue production (ie Witchblade, reportedly cancelled because of Yancy’s drinking problems interfering with production)
