What to Watch Friday: Common Law Finale Tells All, Lost Girl on Fire, Olympic Diving and More

On TV this Friday: The Common Lawmen get down to the good stuff as Season 1 comes to a close, Lost Girl finds a hot new problem and House of Payne closes its doors, for good. Here are 10 programs to keep on your radar.

8 pm 2012 Summer Olympics (NBC) | On tap: diving, bicycle motocross and track and field. (Does anyone else get irrationally anxious while watching diving? Platform – featured tonight – is bad enough, but springboard? Louganis, you scarred me for life.)

8 pm WWE Smackdown (Syfy) | Dolph and Vicki are guests on Chris Jericho’s The Highlight Reel.

8:30 pm Tyler Perry’s House of Payne (TBS) | Series finale: Calvin and C.J. plan a double anniversary fête for the wives – but Calvin’s unaware Miranda is making a huge decision about their marriage.

9 pm Great Performances (PBS) | The Boston Symphony Orchestra and the Boston Pops join the Tanglewood Music Center Orchestra – all under the direction of famed conductors John Williams, Keith Lockhart and Andris Nelsons — for the Tanglewood 75th Anniversary Celebration. Cellist Yo-Yo Ma and singer/songwriter James Taylor join in the Berkshire-based festivities, too.

9 pm Nikita (The CW) | Repeat to Revisit: Carla recalls the night Nikita was arrested, while Alex holds a press conference to cop to her true identity: Colleen Carlton Ted Mosby’s daughter Alexandra Udinov.

10 pm Common Law (USA Network) | Season finale: Gather ’round, because police partners Wes and Travis are finally going to tell the whole story of what landed them in therapy — and as we all know, it involved a (cue episode title) “Gun!”

10 pm Lost Girl (Syfy) | We knew Bo was smokin’, but when spontaneous combustion enters the picture, she’s in real danger of becoming literally too hot to handle.

10 pm The Dead Files (Travel) | Season 2 premiere: Amy and Steve investigate paranormal activity at a… dentist’s home office? What, were all the castles, old theaters and abandoned mental asylums full up?

10 pm Comedy Bang! Bang! (IFC) | Did you know “Weird Al” Yankovic is a vegan? The parody musician will drop this revelation and more during the Season 1 finale, which also features guest appearances by Tenacious D and Jon Heder.

10:30 pm Bunk (IFC) | For the improv comedy’s Season 1 finale, Alex Borstein (Family Guy), Andy Daly (Eastbound & Down) and John Gemberling (Human Giant) make up the panel.

    • As a former diver, high school- which let’s face it is scary enough with out the added potential of spinal damage, I can tell you that when you are jumping you hardly notice that the board is that close. Also I think that in some way you have to be an aldrenilin junkie to enjoy the sport.

      • OK. I commend you taking up a sport in high school, but adrenaline/scary can hardly be used to describe any aspect of the sport. Maybe if you were diving off a cliff for the first time, that would be adrenaline inducing. The treacherous rocks that you could encounter and a landing area void of warm temperatures and smooth concrete. Diving into a controlled, known environment is hardly scary and difficult….One thing I ask though is: During the synchronized diving finals the other day, the pairs/singles continually did the same 2 1/2 somersault dive in pike position. NON-STOP. Every country. 1 Hour straight. Why? There are other dives that can be done.

  • I’ll be watching the Olympics even though I’m sick of diving. Can’t they put something else on in primetime?

Does anyone know if XIII on ReelzChannel is new tonight?

  • As always I will be watching “XIII” on the REELZ channel (9PM Eastern). Think Bourne with more character development and a little less action. I actually like it much better than the movie series.
