If you don’t wanna wait for a Dawson’s Creek mini-reunion, you’re in luck: Cougar Town’s Busy Philipps is set to guest-star on Season 2 of fellow Dawson’s grad James Van Der Beek’s ABC sitcom, Don’t Trust the B—- in Apartment 23.

Philipps will play herself on the comedy’s season premiere as Van Der Beek – who also plays a version of himself — tries to get his co-stars from the WB teen drama to show up for a reunion, TVGuide.com reports. Apartment 23 Creator Nahnatchka Kahn told the site the show wouldn’t mind if Joshua Jackson, Katie Holmes and Michelle Williams decided to stop by, either.

  • Best thing about this article? The “don’t wanna wait” reference to the theme song. At least I hope it was intentional and not me reading into things too much.

    • I’m pretty sure it was intentional and it was great.

  • that’s awesome, love the show and that they are using James Van Der Beek in an interesting and different way, similar to how Neil Patrick Harris is used in the Harold and Kumar films. Can’t wait for the mini reunion.

  • Since Katie Holmes is busy running from Tom Cruise, Josha Jackson is on a different network and Michele Williams is now a multiple Oscar nominee, I doubt they’ll be making appearances. Maybe Kerr Smith, playing a butch version of himself? That could be funny.

    • A butch version of himself? Why can’t he just be himself? It’s not as if he’s some wimpy little guy to begin with.

  • I never watched Dawson’s Creek, so I had no idea Busy Phillips was in it. This is new to me. Generally when I’m not thinking of her as the funny, flighty girl from Cougar Town, I’m thinking of her as the skanky, funny girl from Freaks and Geeks.

    • I never saw freaks and geeks, and love her on Cougar Town, basically her character on Dawsons was a combo of both of those characters you describe mixed togther! She was in the last 2 seasons of Dawsons as Audrey, Joey’s very hyper, quite easy and often funny roommate xxx

  • Doubt Michelle Williams would do it!! She’s probably the best actress of her generation!!

  • Oh and they’re stretching I don’t even think James Van Der Beek and Busy Philips had many scenes together. She was used with katie Holmes and Joshua Jackson

Comment by JASon – August 6, 2012 07:45 PM PDT  Reply To This Post
    • I don’t think that matters – if they were on the same set they probably bumped into each other and became friends. If they are on the same show it’s not a stretch they know each other. I mean all the people from the CW seem to know each other, and they’re all on different shows.

    • They actually had a number of scenes together when Audrey was first introduced in season 5. Dawson was quite fond of her and they had pretty good chemistry in some o their one on one scenes. Looking forward to seeing them together again.

  • I would LOVE for someone from Dawson’s Creek to guest star on Fringe!

  • Jason…. You don’t know what you are talking about. Michelle Williams is a fine actor but she also has a fun side and has been seen with Busy on the red carpet as her BFF at major awards shows. So a chance to grab a cameo with Busy would NOT be out of the picture if her schedule permits.

Comment by Richard – August 7, 2012 12:58 AM PDT  Reply To This Post
  • Ugh, she’s the only one free and jobless enough to do it.

    • You’re a moron. Busy Philipps is in Cougar Town.

      • Cougar Town doesn’t return until 2013, so she doesn’t have a current job.

  • I hope when Fringe ends Jonathan Jackson makes an appearance, that would awesome. Especially if they made him out to be James Van Der Beek’s mortal enemy or something. Is he friends with James?

  • What about Kerr Smith!?

Comment by Eric – August 7, 2012 09:47 AM PDT  Reply To This Post
    • Yea! He was so good on DC, totally underrated actor. His portrayal of a gay teen coming out of the closet was fantastic.
