American Horror Story First Look: Adam Levine and a Colorful Co-Star — But What Does It Mean?

Ladies and gentlemen, American Horror Story’s Ryan Murphy is now on Twitter. And three tweets into his first day on the online social network (@MrRPMurphy), he’s giving fans a behind-the-scenes glimpse of the FX drama.

“Two of our stars who started shooting today – the multitalented @adamlevine and Bloody Face!” the showrunner wrote alongside a photo of Maroon 5 lead singer Adam Levine shining a flashlight on a red face drawn on a brick wall. (Earlier in the day, he tweeted a photo of Lea Michele and Kate Hudson goofing around on Glee‘s NYADA set.)

We know that Levine and recent AHS hire Jenna Dewan will play a mysterious couple called The Lovers in the miniseries’ second season, which takes place in a 1960s insane asylum on the East Coast run by a nun (returning AHS star Jessica Lange). They’re part of a cast that seems to be getting bigger by the day and includes Franka Potente, Britne Oldford, Chloe Sevigny, Chris Zylka, Lizzie Brocheré, Joseph Fiennes, James Cromwell, Mark Consuelos and Clea Duvall.

  • I hope it’s just a joke, cause if the rubber face of the season just runs around drawing and writing his name (!) on the walls, I don’t think it’ll be scary at all…

  • Ryan Murphy ruined musicals and horror, now he has to ruin Twitter? And holy shizz, why is there a headline about a tweet? Are we that desperate for AHS intel?

    • Or he reinvented musicals for TV (and made a mint), made a genius horrow show anthology, and continues to make fun tweets.

  • Probably a scene marker for special effects. That’s where the actors will be looking at a “bloody face” which will be put in during post. IMHO

  • There’s a set of tunnels running under the asylum. One of the patients, beyond whatever mental problems brought him to the asylum in the first place, is also being plagued by whatever thing haunts the asylum. The patient makes his way to the tunnels (due to lax nun security measures), slashes a wrist, and draws the image of his demon.

As far as Adam, his character probably was either exploring the tunnels and came upon the drawing, or, (more likely) has nothing to do with that particular set. Isn’t possible that that wall is close to another set, and Ryan Murphy just said, ‘hey, come over here and take a picture.’
