What to Watch Friday: The Olympics Open, Nikita Revisits the Past, Lost Girl's Body Issues & More

On TV this Friday: Cue the pomp and ready the circumstance, because the London Olympic games have arrived! Elsewhere: You can’t go home again, though XIII and Nikita‘s Alex try anyway; Olivia Wilde graces House with her presence and Effie Trinket herself swings by Comedy Bang! Bang! May the odds be ever in your favor, and here are nine programs to check out tonight.

7:30 pm 2012 Summer Olympics: Opening Ceremony (NBC) | It’s unlikely the kick-off will match China’s mandatory citizen participation efforts from four years ago, but the Danny Boyle-directed opening to this year’s summer games will involve a cast of thousands and a performance by Sir Paul McCartney — definitely worth seeing.

8 pm House (Fox) | In this Repeat to Revisit, a collegiate cheerleader who hears his dead brother’s voice is interesting and all, but the real draw is the glorious return of Olivia Wilde’s Thirteen.

8 pm WWE SmackDown (Syfy) | A fatal four-way match determines who’ll challenge Sheamus for the World Heavyweight Title.

9 pm Nikita (The CW) | In tonight’s second Repeat to Revisit, Alex infiltrates her childhood home (and bumps into ghosts from her past) as she continues her mission to destroy Gogol.

9 pm XIII: The Series (Reelz) | (A non-House) XIII arrives at the Pacific Northwest paramilitary training camp where he allegedly trained. And the camp’s leader is not happy to see him.

10 pm Comedy Bang! Bang! (IFC) | Elizabeth Banks (The Hunger Games, 30 Rock) does a decent Star Wars droid impression as she visits with Scott.

10 pm Lost Girl (Syfy) | Bo’s investigation of mysterious disappearances threatens her physique. I can totally relate: My investigation of Boston Kreme donuts threatens my physique all the time.

10 pm Common Law (USA Network) | When Travis and Wes’ mentors — played by Lost alumni Kevin Tighe and Jeff Fahey — are called in to consult on a high-stakes, drug-related murder, the detectives quickly grow a new appreciation for each other.

11 pm John Oliver’s New York Stand-Up Show (Comedy Central) | The Daily Show With Jon Stewart correspondent Oliver hosts this hour of sets from up-and-comers Jared Logan, Adam Newman, Emily Heller and Hannibal Buress.
