New Girl Adds Bent Alum as Jess' New Love! Plus, Leslie Mann and Niecy Nash Visit Season 2

New Girl David WaltonNew Girl‘s Jess is getting a new love in Season 2 — and he’s played by Bent alum David Walton. But that’s not the only new-yet-familiar face en route to the Fox comedy.

Fresh off of his short-lived NBC series, Walton has been tapped to recur on New Girl as the “classic bad boy type,” EW.com reports. He and Jess will hit it off in the premiere (airing Sept. 25) when he mistakes her for someone else, and, being the quirkster that she is, she decides to go along with it.

Also dropping by New Girl‘s sophomore run are Knocked Up‘s Leslie Mann and Reno 911! vet Niecy Nash.

Per EW.com, Mann appears in the season opener as well, playing a “shot girl” at Schmidt’s penis cast removal soiree. (This is an actual storyline.) Nash, meanwhile, is slated to guest-star in an early installment of Season 2 as a hooker who steal’s Jess’ purse, per The Hollywood Reporter.

  • David Walton, of course. Bent really deserved better from NBC.

  • David Walton is a show killer with Perfect Couples and Bent. Didn’t he have a failed TV pilot as well with another show killer Joanna Garcia? Poor guy can’t catch a break.

  • Uggggh. Death sentence lol. This guy has not been appealing on any of the shows he has been on recently and they still keep bringing him back.

  • Loved Bent. Not sure he’s necessary on New Girl, but wish Bent was still on the air, or had been given half a chance by NBC.

    • I liked Bent. Sad to see the network barely gave it a chance.

  • Eh, Jess seems to have a new love interest every quarter of the season. Kindof wish they’d focus a little more on her friendship with CeCe and the guys.

  • I was really hoping with the season 1 finale that the.Nick and Jess romantic storyline would finally pick up! Apparently I was wrong :( hopefully they get their act together soon though. I’ve wanted them together since the beginning!

    • If Jes and Nick got together there’d be hardly anything to keep the show going. As much as I’d love for that to happen, I’d rather the show go on and maybe in a few season it’ll happen! ;)
